This changes the visual setting compared with what guests may expect from a traditional castle show, so it is worth considering before deciding which Reserved Viewing Area is right for your visit. The Disney Tales of Magic Reserved Viewing Area is the premium viewing option for Disneyland Paris’ nighttime spectacular at Disneyland Park. The show takes place in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle and combines projections, water fountains and pyrotechnics to bring Disney stories to life.
From our experience, we were impressed with the Reserved Viewing Area and would still recommend it, especially if you want a more relaxed evening without needing to secure a viewing spot hours before the show begins.
One of the biggest advantages is that you do not need to arrive as early as you would for a regular viewing area. We were able to arrive later, take our time getting ready for the show, and still get a great position. We also took drinks and snacks into the area with us, which made the wait much more enjoyable.
However, there is one important thing to consider at the moment: Sleeping Beauty Castle currently has walls around it, which can affect the view depending on where you stand.
Our top tip is not to rush straight to the front of the Reserved Viewing Area. While it may seem like the closest position would be best, the castle walls can limit your view from the front. We found that standing slightly further back actually gave us a better overall experience because we could take in more of the show without the barriers becoming a distraction.
If you want to find one of the best positions, we recommend looking towards the area near the VIP Tours viewing location, which is currently close to the Fantasyland Stage. This area offers a great perspective and is worth considering when choosing where to stand.
The Reserved Viewing Area does fill up, so while you do not need to arrive extremely early, we would not leave it until the last minute either. Giving yourself enough time to enter, choose your spot and settle in will make the experience much more enjoyable.

Cascade of Lights Reserved Viewing Area at Disney Adventure World
The Cascade of Lights Reserved Viewing Area offers a completely different experience from Disney Tales of Magic. Instead of a castle-based nighttime spectacular, this show takes place over Adventure Bay at Disney Adventure World, combining sky drones, water drones, projections and fountains.
The Reserved Viewing Area for Cascade of Lights is located near Regal View Restaurant, facing towards the World of Frozen area. One advantage of this location is that the viewing area is built across multiple levels, giving guests a better chance of finding a clear view of the show.
However, based on our experience, this is one Reserved Viewing Area where we would suggest thinking carefully before booking.
While we enjoyed Cascade of Lights, we personally prefer Disney Tales of Magic and would not choose to pay for the Reserved Viewing Area for this particular show. The reason is that Adventure Bay has been designed with multiple viewing opportunities, rather than the single main viewing focus you get with Sleeping Beauty Castle.
There are four main projection fountain areas around the bay, and because the viewing areas are naturally spread out across different levels, it is possible to find a very good spot without paying for reserved access.
Our recommendation would be to arrive earlier, choose a position facing one of the main projection fountains, and enjoy the show from there. In our opinion, the Reserved Viewing Area does not provide the same added value for Cascade of Lights as it does for Disney Tales of Magic.
That does not mean it will not suit everyone. Guests who want the convenience of a guaranteed viewing area, do not want to arrive early, or simply prefer knowing they have a dedicated space may still appreciate the option.
For visitors deciding between the two Reserved Viewing Areas, we would personally prioritise Disney Tales of Magic. The castle setting, limited viewing locations and the ability to arrive later make the Reserved Viewing Area feel more valuable for that experience.

For Disney Tales of Magic, we would recommend the Reserved Viewing Area. The main benefit is the convenience. You can arrive later, enjoy your evening at a more relaxed pace, and still have a dedicated area to watch the show. This is especially useful if you are visiting with children, have only one evening in the park, or simply do not want to spend a long time waiting for a good viewing position.
The castle setting also makes a difference. Because the show is focused around Sleeping Beauty Castle, there are fewer obvious places where you can get that classic view. Having a reserved space removes some of the stress of trying to find the right spot in a busy area.
For Cascade of Lights, we would personally be more selective. While the Reserved Viewing Area is well positioned near Regal View Restaurant and offers a comfortable viewing location, we do not feel it provides the same value as it does for Disney Tales of Magic. Adventure Bay has been designed with multiple viewing opportunities, meaning visitors can still find excellent spots around the lake without paying for reserved access.
