Positioned on Lake Disney, the 3-star Sequoia Lodge offers exceptional value while maintaining proximity to the parks. Each day it was only a short 10-minute walk through Disney Village to get to the parks, or on the days our feet were hurting we enjoyed the complimentary shuttle bus for a quick ride to the magic.

Having stayed at Disney’s Sequoia Lodge multiple times, we’re here to share our review and insights, ensuring you have all the details you need to plan your enchanting stay.

Get ready to explore! We’re diving into the cozy, woodland-themed details of our stay in our review of Disney’s Sequoia Lodge.

Disney Sequoia Lodge Character Meet & Greets

If you follow us on our socials or YouTube, you’ll know one of our favorite things to do is meet characters, and one of the perks of staying at Disney’s hotels is the daily character meet and greets. At Disney’s Sequoia Lodge, we get to see characters in exclusive, woodland-themed outfits you won’t find anywhere else!

The character meet and greets at Sequoia Lodge take place in the open space behind the Redwood Bar and Lounge in front of a seasonal forest backdrop. Throughout our stays at the hotel, we’ve had the pleasure of meeting Donald Duck, Goofy and Max all dressed in their unique, nature-inspired attire!

We always love the character meet and greets at the hotel as they’re the perfect way to start or end your Disney day. As an added bonus, Disney Photographers are usually on hand to capture those extra special moments for us.

On our most recent visit to the hotel, the characters were meeting guests in the morning, but on previous visits, they greeted guests in the evening. Therefore, we always recommend checking the character meet and greet board for the exact times when you check-in.

Disney Sequoia Lodge Location

Unlike the Disney hotels in other parks around the world, all the hotels at Disneyland Paris are very close to the park, as you can see on the map above.

10-Minute Walking Distance from the park

Disney’s Sequoia Lodge is located on the tranquil shores of Lake Disney, offering a scenic and peaceful retreat just a short distance from the magic of the parks. Positioned near Disney Village, Sequoia Lodge enjoys a prime location (3rd closest hotel to the parks) that provides easy access to Disneyland Paris.

On our visit, we timed the walk from our room to the entrance of Disneyland Paris, which only took 11 minutes. This includes passing through security (non-peak time) and walking through Disney Village and a leisurely pace.

Although it is very close to the parks, guests can choose to take the free shuttle bus service. Sequoia Lodge shares this service with Disney Hotel New York – Art of Marvel, and we found they ran around every 15 minutes, ensuring quick and easy transfers to the hotel.

Disney Sequoia Lodge Check-in

Every time we visit Disneyland Paris, we make it a point to catch the earliest flight possible to maximize our time in the parks. This often means taking a 6 am flight to Paris, allowing us to check into our hotel and be in the parks by 11 am!

When we arrived at Disney’s Sequoia Lodge we saw the long check-in lines at the reception desk. As we approached the queue we were welcomed by a friendly Cast Member who asked if we had completed the online check-in via the DLP App. Since we had, they directed us to a shorter queue line to the right-hand side, making the check-in process much quicker.

The Cast Member assisting us was incredibly helpful, quickly processing our check-in. They provided us with an envelope containing the hotel map and our Magic Passes, which served as our room key and meal plan vouchers. If you purchased a Hotel & Ticket page, this Magic Pass would also contain your park tickets and any pre-purchased character dining experiences.

For first-time visitors, the hotel map is essential as the hotel is made up of the main block and multiple outdoor buildings. As we had chosen a room near the facilities, the Cast Member showed us where our room would be and luckily we were on the same floor as reception. As we didn’t have a meal plan he also explained the various dining options available at the hotel and showed us the location of the concierge desk who could help us book restaurants if we had not already organised our dining reservations.

As Disneyland Paris officially lists room availability from 3 pm onward, we never expect our room to be ready when we arrive so early in the morning. To our surprise, the Cast Member on reception said our room was ready.

We eagerly made our way through the lobby, around the corner passing the character meet and greet spot where Donald Duck was greeting other guests, and walked through the double doors to our room.

On occasions where our room wasn’t ready, we’ve simply taken advantage of the free onsite luggage storage located in the building next to the lobby. This service is quick and efficient, allowing you to drop off your bags and head straight to the parks. You will receive a text and/or email when your room is ready, ensuring an easy check-in process and start to stay..

Our Disney Sequoia Lodge Room

Before we talk about our room and experience we wanted to share with you the room options available at Disney Sequoia Lodge, and surprisingly there’s not a huge difference in cost per night when we visited, please see the screenshot below.

  • First up, we’ve got the Standard Room. This room type has 2 double beds sleeping up to 4 people and providing a great option for both couples and families.
  • For those looking to be closer to the action, the Standard Room near hotel facilities is the perfect option. Located in the main building or blocks closest to the hotel reception and restaurants, these rooms also feature 2 double beds.
  • The hotel also offers Lake Side Rooms facing Lake Disney. As we’ve said before this doesn’t guarantee you a view of the lake but these rooms also feature 2 double beds and is located close to the hotel facilities.
If you’re looking for a little extra magic The Sequoia has Golden Forest Club Rooms, which comes with many little extras.

  • Private reception desk
  • Sweet and savoury snacks from 4 pm to 6.00 pm
  • Access to the private lounge from 12 pm to 10 pm, serving hot and soft drinks
  • American buffet breakfast from 7 am to 11 am,
  • Mini-fridge in each room.

Now, let’s talk about our room! We booked a room near the hotel facilities which was why our room was so close to reception when we checked in.

The location of our room was amazing for walking to the parks, it only took us 80 seconds from exiting our room to exiting the hotel onto the path by Lake Disney. We know not all rooms will be this close, but it did help at the end of the day when our feet were tired.

Arriving at our room…

  • Coffee machine and kettle
  • Hairdryer (basic) fixed to the bathroom wall
  • No iron, No fridge

The Sequoia Lodge theme spreads throughout the room, with warm earth tones, nature-inspired borders, and Bambi woodland-themed artwork. One thing we noticed entering our room was the high ceilings. This really made the room feel much larger and more spacious.

Our room featured two comfortable double beds (yes, we tried both!), a free-of-charge safe, and ample storage with a small wardrobe and numerous drawers. While basic, these storage facilities are pretty much standard across all the hotels at Disneyland Paris.

After staying at the hotel many times before we know the room had a limited number of power outlets, but we were surprised to see that Disneyland Paris has included a charging block featuring EU and USB sockets making it much easier to charge multiple devices at once.

This wasn’t the only change we noticed. Inside the bathroom, Hydrao showerheads have been installed. At first, we were unsure of what these were, but the shower card explained that they would change colour based on how much water you use in the shower, encouraging guests to use and reduce their water consumption. It will provide a fun shower experience for little ones for sure!

In summary, Sequoia Lodge rooms are a solid choice for visitors who appreciate a cozy, nature-themed environment. The room’s delightful details and practical amenities make it a memorable stay, especially for those who love a rustic, woodland atmosphere.

In-room amenities…

When it comes to in-room amenities, our room was equipped with a fully stocked coffee pod machine, kettle and 2 glass bottles of water. However, our room didn’t feature a fridge or an iron. We are aware that rooms inside Golden Forest do feature a mini fridge, so if this is essential for your trip make sure to book this room type.

Additionally, towels and toiletries are included within the bathroom. It was nice to see that instead of single-use plastic items, the hotel also incorporated reusable containers for shower gel, shampoo and conditioner similar to what we’ve seen in the other Disney hotels.

A hairdryer is also attached to the wall in the bathroom, however, as always this is very basic and low-powered meaning it’s not the best.

Disney Sequoia Lodge Restaurants & Bars

When we checked in the Cast Member explained the dining options available to us at Disney’s Sequoia Lodge

  • Hunters Grill (all you can eat buffet)
  • Beaver Creek Tavern (all you can eat buffet)
  • Redwood Bar and Lounge

Over our many visits to Disneyland Paris we’ve had the pleasure of dining at both Hunter’s Grill and Beaver Creek Tavern. These twin dining venues offer a rustic, lodge-themed experience that perfectly complements the hotel’s woodsy ambiance. We quickly came to learn that the restaurants offer a virtually identical all you can eat buffet, meaning you don’t need to worry about which restaurant to choose on your visit.

We started our days with breakfast at these restaurants. The buffet included a variety of pastries, cereals, fruits, and hot items like eggs, bacon, and sausages. The quality was consistently high, and the food was replenished frequently. The breakfast buffet provided the perfect start to our day.

One evening during our trip we planned an early finish in the parks and to enjoyed the buffet and drinks in the bar. We always enjoy the buffets and the meat selection was just as good as we remembered. From international cuisine to classic comfort foods, there was something for everyone. Alongside the impressive meat selection, there were plenty of vegetarian options, ensuring all dietary preferences were catered for.

One of the unique highlights was the Raclette station – the Sequoia Lodge restaurants are the only buffet restaurant in Disneyland Paris to offer this delectable Swiss dish. Melted Raclette cheese served over potatoes and cured meats became an instant favorite for us both!

The service at both Hunter’s Grill and Beaver Creek Tavern was exceptional. The staff were friendly and attentive, ensuring our dining experience was smooth and enjoyable. Our plates were cleared promptly, and the buffet was consistently well-stocked and clean.

The buffets at Sequoia Lodge are €45 per adult and €25 per child, making it on par as the other buffets at Disneyland Paris.

The Redwood Bar and Lounge has quickly became one of our favorite spots to unwind throughout all the bars at Disneyland Paris. The bar’s inviting ambiance, with large, comfortable sofas and a cozy open fireplace, made it the perfect place to relax after a long day at the parks.

The drink menu offered a delightful mix of cocktails and mocktails, catering to all tastes. We particularly enjoyed the banana-infused drink, which was a unique and refreshing treat. If you want to unwind or are just in the mood for a classic cocktail or a creative mocktail, this bar provides a relaxing and enjoyable experience that’s hard to beat.

Disney Sequoia Lodge swimming pool

Midway through our trip, we planned a lazy morning to fully enjoy the Quarry Pool, and it was a fantastic decision. The pool area features both indoor and outdoor heated pools, surrounded by a beautiful natural setting that perfectly complements the hotels rustic charm.

The indoor pool was our starting point, where we saw kids having a great time with the water games and slides. The atmosphere was relaxed, and we appreciated the warmth of the heated water, making it comfortable even for us early morning swims.

We spent our morning lounging by the pool, enjoying the serene environment and the beautiful surroundings. The Quarry Pool is a great spot for families and guests of all ages, offering a delightful mix of relaxation and fun. Whether you’re looking to splash around with the kids or simply unwind, the swimming pool at Sequoia Lodge is a must-visit.
