Last updated: 18 August 2026

If you’re wondering how to book the Hero Training Center at Disneyland Paris, the experience uses a Virtual Queue through the Disneyland Paris app, with confirmed release times currently at 9:45am and 2pm. You can choose between a dedicated Spider-Man Heroic Encounter or a Random Super Hero experience.

We’ve visited the Hero Training Center many times and have met a huge range of Marvel Super Heroes, including Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Doctor Strange, Black Panther, Shuri, Loki, Star-Lord, Sam Wilson, Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel, Black Widow, Ant-Man and Wasp. It remains one of the experiences we make time for on every Disneyland Paris trip, and over those visits we’ve picked up a few things that are useful to know before you try to book it yourself.

There’s one important difference between the two booking options that’s easy to miss. The 180° multi-frame action photo is not included with the Spider-Man encounter, while it is associated with the Random Super Hero experience. If you’re deciding which option to choose, that’s definitely something we’d want to know before joining the queue.

In this guide, we’ll take you through how to book the Hero Training Center, how the Virtual Queue works, who you might meet and what to expect when you arrive, along with the tips we’ve picked up from visiting the experience time and time again.

What is the Hero Training Center?

The Hero Training Center at Disneyland Paris is where Marvel fans can meet Marvel Super Heroes in Avengers Campus at Disney Adventure World. Depending on the Virtual Queue option you join, you could meet Spider-Man specifically or be allocated another Marvel Super Hero.

The Hero Training Center combines the character encounter with a superhero-themed setting designed to feel like a place where aspiring heroes can train alongside the Avengers. It sits within Avengers Campus, giving Marvel fans plenty of opportunities to continue the story beyond the Hero Training Center itself.

Which Marvel Super Heroes Can I Meet at the Hero Training Center?

One of the best things about the Hero Training Center is that you never quite know who you’ll meet. The Marvel Super Hero appearing can vary, so choosing the right Virtual Queue option is important if there’s a particular character you’re hoping to see.

When booking, you’ll be able to choose between Spider-Man or a random Marvel Super Hero. If Spider-Man is the priority, select his dedicated option. Otherwise, choosing the random Super Hero option leaves the character as a surprise.

We actually enjoy the random option when we’re not set on meeting someone specific. After visiting the Hero Training Center many times, we’ve found that some of our favourite encounters have been the ones we weren’t expecting.

The character you’re allocated is ultimately part of the fun, and it’s one reason the Hero Training Center can feel different each time you visit.

Spider-Man Heroic Encounter

  • Only place where you’re guaranteed to meet Spider-Man at Disneyland Paris
  • PhotoPass Photographer
  • Doesn’t have the 180 degree video/multi-photo

If Spider-Man is the Marvel Super Hero you most want to meet at Disneyland Paris, the Hero Training Center is the place to head. It’s the only place at Disneyland Paris where you can meet Spider-Man, making his Heroic Encounter particularly popular.

The experience includes a Disney PhotoPass photographer, so you can have photos taken during your meeting rather than relying solely on your own camera. Spider-Man also gets involved with the encounter, making it more than simply standing beside the character for a quick photograph.

For younger Marvel fans in particular, meeting Spider-Man can be a brilliant experience. There’s something rather special about seeing the character come to life and getting the chance to pose alongside him in Avengers Campus.

Random Superhero Heroic Encounter

  • Meet a random Superhero
  • Captain America, Thor, Dr Strange, Black Panther, Shuri, Loki, Star Lord, Sam Wilson, Captain Marvel, Ms Marvel, Black Widow, Ant Man, Wasp, the Scarlet Witch and more!
  • Iron Man is currently not meeting.
  • 180 degree video/multi-video available

If you’re happy to leave the choice of character to chance, the Random Super Hero Heroic Encounter is a great option. You won’t know which Marvel Super Hero you’ll meet until you arrive, and for us, that element of surprise is one of the best things about choosing this option.

It’s particularly good for repeat visitors. Once you’ve visited Disneyland Paris several times, you may have already met Spider-Man or some of the more familiar Avengers. Choosing the random encounter gives you the chance of meeting someone different without having to plan your day around a specific character.

We’ve had some of our favourite Hero Training Center encounters when we haven’t known who was waiting for us. There’s a genuine sense of anticipation as you work your way through the queue because you can’t simply look at the booking and know who you’re about to meet.

The random option also gives you the chance to meet a character who you may not have expected to see during your visit. That can make it particularly rewarding for Marvel fans who enjoy collecting different character encounters rather than simply ticking off one specific hero.

If Spider-Man is your must-meet character, we’d book Spider-Man. But if you’ve already met him or simply enjoy a bit of a surprise, we think the Random Super Hero option is the more exciting choice. You don’t know who you’ll meet until those doors open, and sometimes that’s half the fun.

Spider-Man vs Random Super Hero: Which Should You Choose?

When the Hero Training Center Virtual Queue opens, you’ll need to decide which experience you want to book. Spider-Man is the choice if he’s the character you most want to meet, while Random Super Hero gives you the chance to meet another Marvel Super Hero without knowing who you’ll get in advance.

Which one would we choose?

In short: choose Spider-Man if he’s your priority. Choose Random Super Hero if you’re happy to leave the character to chance.

What Is the Hero Training Center Experience Actually Like?

The Hero Training Center is much more than a quick photo with a Marvel Super Hero. The interaction is built around the character you meet, so you can expect to be involved rather than simply standing beside them.

Over our many visits, we’ve had some brilliant moments. We’ve crawled along the floor with Spider-Man, squatted with Black Panther, learned how Thor dances and practised our superhero landing with Black Widow. The exact interaction depends on the character, which is part of what makes each visit feel different.

Our advice is to go along with whatever the Super Hero asks you to do rather than worrying about getting the perfect pose. Some of our favourite moments have come from simply joining in and seeing where the interaction takes us.

A Disney PhotoPass photographer is there to capture the encounter, so you can concentrate on the experience rather than trying to take your own photographs. With the Random Super Hero experience, there is also the added excitement of not knowing who you’ll meet until you reach the room.

For us, that combination of interaction, characterisation and surprise is what sets the Hero Training Center apart from a more traditional character meet.

Is the Hero Training Center Worth Booking?

For us, absolutely. It’s a must-do on every Disneyland Paris trip, particularly if you’re a Marvel fan or love character experiences.

We’ve met a huge range of Super Heroes here over the years, including Spider-Man, Captain America, Thor, Doctor Strange, Black Panther, Shuri, Loki, Star-Lord, Sam Wilson, Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel, Black Widow, Ant-Man, Wasp, Scarlet Witch and more.

The fact that we’ve returned so many times says a lot about how much we enjoy it. Even when we’ve already met several of the characters, the experience itself makes it worth doing again because the interaction can be completely different.

So, is it worth booking? Yes, this isn’t an experience we’d leave until the end of the day and only do if there’s time. We actively make time for it on every Disneyland Paris trip.

Who Is the Hero Training Center Best For?

The Hero Training Center is a particularly good choice for Marvel fans, families and anyone who enjoys character experiences. If meeting Super Heroes is high on your Disneyland Paris wish list, we’d make this a priority rather than something to fit in if you happen to have time.

It’s also a great option for children who love Marvel. The interactive nature of the encounters means they aren’t simply standing next to a character for a photograph. They can get involved, copy poses and movements, and interact with the Super Hero they’ve come to meet.

That said, you don’t need to be a child to enjoy it. We’ve visited the Hero Training Center many times and still love it ourselves. We’ve had some of our best character moments here, and the different interactions give adults plenty of opportunities to get involved too.

It’s especially good for Marvel fans

If you’re a big Marvel fan, this is one of the experiences we’d prioritise during a visit to Disneyland Paris. We’ve met so many different Super Heroes here over the years that it has become one of our regular stops on every trip.

It’s particularly good for repeat visitors because the character you meet through the Random Super Hero experience can change from visit to visit. Just remember that there are no guarantees, so you could also meet the same character again.

Who might not enjoy it as much?

If you’re not particularly interested in Marvel characters, there are probably other experiences at Disneyland Paris that deserve your time more. The Hero Training Center is built around meeting and interacting with Super Heroes, so much of its appeal comes from enjoying that character interaction.

It’s also not the best choice if you simply want to walk in, take a quick photograph and leave. The fun comes from joining in. You might be asked to copy a pose, try a superhero move or get involved in the interaction, so we’d embrace that rather than standing back and waiting for the photograph.

For us, that’s exactly what makes it worth doing. If you’re happy to get involved, love Marvel or simply enjoy meeting characters, we’d put the Hero Training Center high on your Disneyland Paris to-do list.

What you need to do BEFORE you book...

A little preparation before your Disneyland Paris visit can make joining the Hero Training Center Virtual Queue much easier. We’ve visited the Hero Training Center many times and have seen the booking process change over time, so it’s worth making sure everything is ready before the queue opens.

Make sure you have park access

You’ll need valid admission that allows you to enter the park where Avengers Campus is located. This can be a ticket for the relevant park or a ticket that includes access to both parks.

Download the Disneyland Paris app

The official Disneyland Paris app is essential because the Hero Training Center Virtual Queue is accessed through the app on the day of your visit. Make sure it is installed and that you’re signed in before you start trying to join the queue.

It’s much easier to have everything set up before you arrive rather than trying to sort out your account while you’re at the park.

Link your tickets and booking details

Before your visit, check that the relevant tickets, passes or Disney Hotel booking are connected to your Disneyland Paris account. Having everything ready means there should be less to do when the Virtual Queue becomes available.

For example:

  • Park tickets: Add your tickets through your Disneyland Paris account so they are ready to use.

  • Disney Hotel booking: If you’re staying at a Disney Hotel, make sure your reservation is linked correctly.

  • Annual Pass: Annual Passholders should also have their pass linked to their account.

How early should you prepare?

Don’t wait until the virtual queue opens to start looking for the Hero Training Center in the Disneyland Paris app. If you want the best chance of securing your preferred experience, we’d have everything ready a few minutes beforehand.

Before the Virtual Queue opens, we’d recommend:

  • Be inside the park and ready to book.
  • Make sure everyone’s ticket is linked to the Disneyland Paris app.
  • Open the app and have the Hero Training Center easy to find.
  • Decide which experience you want before the queue opens: Spider-Man or Random Super Hero.
  • Have your party sorted so you can select the correct guests quickly when booking.

Then, when availability opens at select the Hero Training Center, choose your experience, select the members of your party and confirm the booking.

We’ve found that having everything ready beforehand makes the process much less stressful. You’re not trying to work out where the Hero Training Center is in the app while availability is disappearing, and you can make your choice quickly when the queue opens.

Step-by-Step guide on how to book the
Hero Training Center at Disneyland Paris

Once you’ve got the Disneyland Paris app installed and your tickets or passes linked, you’re ready to join the Hero Training Center Virtual Queue.

Open the Disneyland Paris App and find the Hero Training Center

It’s worth finding the Hero Training Center listing in the app before the Virtual Queue opens.

To find the Hero Training Center:

  1. Open the Disneyland Paris app.

  2. Select Map from the bottom menu.

  3. Switch the map to List view.

  4. Select Characters.

  5. Choose Disney Adventure World.

  6. Find and select Hero Training Center.

  7. When the Virtual Queue is available, tap Join the Queue.

Once you reach the Hero Training Center listing, the available encounter options will be shown. This is where you’ll need to decide whether you want to join the queue specifically for Spider-Man or take your chances with a Random Super Hero encounter.

We recommend having this decision made before the queue opens. If you’re hoping to meet Spider-Man, you don’t want to be hesitating over which option to select while availability is disappearing.

Choose Your Hero Encounter

When the Virtual Queue opens, you’ll need to choose which Hero Training Center experience you want to join.

Select Spider-Man if meeting the web-slinger is your priority, or choose the Random Super Hero option if you’re happy to leave the character up to chance.

Once you’ve decided, tap “Select this Experience” to continue with your booking.

If you’re visiting with a particular character in mind, it’s worth making that decision before the queue opens. That way, you can select your preferred experience without having to stop and think when availability becomes available.

Confirm Your Party

After selecting your Hero Training Center experience, you’ll need to confirm who will be taking part.

The app will show the tickets linked to your account. Select the members of your party who want to join the Heroic Encounter, then follow the prompts to confirm your selection.

It’s worth checking the list carefully before confirming, particularly if you’re booking for a larger group. Only select the people who actually want to take part in the experience.

Confirm Your Booking and Check Your Wait Time

Once your booking has been confirmed, the app will show your estimated wait time and details of your Hero Training Center experience.

Keep checking the app while you’re waiting, as the estimated time can update. This means you can make the most of your time elsewhere in the park rather than standing around waiting for your turn.

As your estimated return time approaches, keep an eye on the app so you know when to make your way towards the Hero Training Center. We’d recommend allowing yourself enough time to get there rather than cutting it fine, particularly if you’re on the other side of the park.

Arrive at the Hero Training Center When Your Wait Time Reaches Zero

When your Virtual Queue wait time reaches 0 minutes, make your way to the Hero Training Center and follow the instructions shown in the Disneyland Paris app.

Try not to leave it until the last second. Once your return time arrives, head over promptly so you don’t risk missing your allocated encounter.

This is the point where the waiting is finally over and you get to meet your Marvel Super Hero in person. Enjoy it, take your time with the encounter and, most importantly, have your camera ready for that all-important hero moment.

By following these steps, you’ll be ready to join the Hero Training Center Virtual Queue and enjoy your Marvel encounter.

The key is to check the app before the confirmed release times, have your tickets and party details ready, and act quickly when the queue opens. A little preparation beforehand means you can spend less time worrying about the booking process and more time enjoying the experience once you’re inside.

Planning to use Virtual Queues for other character meets too? We’ve put together a complete Disneyland Paris Virtual Queue guide covering the wider character meet-and-greet system, so you can use the same approach across your visit.

What to expect when you arrive

Once your Virtual Queue wait time reaches 0 minutes, it’s time to head over to the Hero Training Center. Have your booking open in the Disneyland Paris app, as you’ll be asked to show it several times during the check-in process.

1. Your first check at the entrance

When you reach the entrance, the Cast Member at the door will check your Virtual Queue booking and confirm that your wait time has reached 0 minutes.

Once this has been verified, you’ll be allowed inside and directed towards the first checkpoint.

2. Check in again inside

A second Cast Member will check your booking details again and make a note of your reservation number. Once they’ve processed your booking, they’ll direct you to the appropriate queue for your experience.

There are two different waiting arrangements, depending on whether you’re meeting Spider-Man or a Random Super Hero.

3. The Spider-Man queue

If you’ve booked the Spider-Man Heroic Encounter, you’ll join the queue on the left-hand side.

Rather than a conventional standing queue, this uses a series of benches. As groups are called forward to meet Spider-Man, everyone moves from one bench to the next until you eventually reach the Cast Member at the front.

It’s a fairly straightforward system, but don’t worry if it initially looks a little confusing. Just follow the instructions from the Cast Members and move forward when the group ahead of you is called.

4. The Random Super Hero queue

The Random Super Hero experience uses the queue on the right-hand side, near the superhero posters. This is a more traditional standing queue.

From our visits, we usually spend around 5 to 10 minutes in this part of the queue, although the exact time will depend on how quickly groups are moving through the experience.

When you reach the front of either queue, a Cast Member will check your Virtual Queue reservation number again before allowing you to continue.

5. Through to the Hero Training Center

Once you’ve passed the final check, you’ll enter a corridor leading towards the Hero Training Center.

At the end of the corridor there is an automatic door. Occasionally, this door may remain closed for a few minutes while the previous group or encounter is being managed, so don’t worry if you reach this point and have to wait briefly.

Once the door opens, follow the corridor through into the Hero Training Center meet-and-greet area.

At this point, you’re very close to meeting your Marvel Super Hero. The waiting is almost over, so this is where the excitement really starts to build.

Can You Meet Marvel Super Heroes Outside the Hero Training Center?

Yes. The Hero Training Center is one of the main places to meet Marvel Super Heroes at Disneyland Paris, but it certainly isn’t your only opportunity. Avengers Campus is full of Marvel activity, and characters can appear in different ways throughout the day.

Character Meet-and-Greets

You may find Marvel characters appearing elsewhere in Avengers Campus for dedicated character encounters. The characters available can change, so it’s worth checking the Disneyland Paris app during your visit for current information.

These encounters are separate from the Hero Training Center, meaning you don’t need a Hero Training Center Virtual Queue booking to take part. Availability can be limited, though, so if there’s a character you particularly want to meet, keep an eye on the app.

Marvel Characters Around Avengers Campus

One of the fun things about Avengers Campus is that you may also spot Marvel Super Heroes out and about. Characters can interact with guests and add to the atmosphere as you explore the area.

These moments aren’t necessarily something you can plan around, which is part of the appeal. You might be walking through Avengers Campus and suddenly find yourself watching a Super Hero interaction taking place nearby.

Marvel Entertainment

Avengers Campus also offers Marvel-themed entertainment, giving you another way to see the characters beyond traditional meet-and-greets.

The exact entertainment schedule and characters can change, so check the Disneyland Paris app for the current day’s times rather than relying on an old schedule.

Marvel Character Experiences at Disney Hotels

Staying at a Disney Hotel can also give you access to additional character experiences. Depending on your hotel and the experiences available during your stay, you may have opportunities to meet Marvel characters away from the parks.

If you’re staying at a Disney Hotel, check the Disneyland Paris app and your hotel information for the experiences available during your visit. Some character experiences can be booked in advance, so it’s worth checking before you arrive rather than assuming you can arrange everything once you’re there.

For Marvel fans, this is one of the biggest advantages of planning beyond the Hero Training Center. You don’t have to rely on one booking to meet Super Heroes during your Disneyland Paris trip. There are several other opportunities to look out for, and the characters and experiences can vary from visit to visit.

Hero Training Center FAQ

How do I book the Hero Training Center at Disneyland Paris?

The Hero Training Center is booked through the Virtual Queue in the official Disneyland Paris app. On the day of your visit, open the app, find the Hero Training Center under the character experiences and select Join the Queue when booking is available.

What time does the Hero Training Center Virtual Queue open?

The confirmed Virtual Queue release times are currently 9:45am and 2pm.

We recommend being ready in the Disneyland Paris app a few minutes before each release. We’ve seen additional availability appear later in the evening during some visits, but these later releases aren’t guaranteed and shouldn’t be treated as a third daily booking window.

It’s also worth checking the app on the morning of your visit in case Disneyland Paris makes any changes to the day’s availability.

Do I need to be inside the park to book the Hero Training Center?

Yes. The Hero Training Center Virtual Queue is a same-day experience, and you need to have entered the Disney Parks before joining the queue. This means you shouldn’t plan to join from your hotel or while travelling to Disneyland Paris.

Can I choose to meet Spider-Man?

Yes, when the Spider-Man Heroic Encounter is available. When you join the Hero Training Center Virtual Queue, you’ll see the available experience options and can select Spider-Man specifically.

It’s important to know that Spider-Man does not appear in the Random Super Hero location. If meeting Spider-Man is your priority, make sure you select his dedicated encounter rather than choosing the random option.

Who can you meet at the Hero Training Center?

The Super Hero lineup can change, particularly when you choose the Random Super Hero experience. Over our many visits, we’ve met characters including Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Doctor Strange, Black Panther, Shuri, Loki, Star-Lord, Sam Wilson, Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel, Black Widow, Ant-Man, Wasp, Scarlet Witch and more.

Character availability changes, and not every character listed above will be available during every visit and the Random Super Hero experience can also mean you meet the same character on different days.

Is the Hero Training Center free?

There isn’t a separate charge to join the Hero Training Center Virtual Queue. The experience is available as part of your admission to the Disney Parks, subject to availability and the applicable park admission requirements.

You don’t need to purchase a separate ticket for the Hero Training Center itself, although any additional Disney PhotoPass products or photos you choose to purchase are separate.

Does the Hero Training Center include Disney PhotoPass?

Yes. A Disney PhotoPass photographer is present during the Heroic Encounter to capture your interaction with the Super Hero.

Does Spider-Man get the 180° photo?

No. Although a Disney PhotoPass photographer is present during the Spider-Man Heroic Encounter, the Spider-Man experience does not include the 180° multi-frame action photo.

If getting the 180° multi-frame photo is important to you, choose the Random Super Hero experience instead.

What happens when my Virtual Queue reaches 0 minutes?

Reaching 0 minutes doesn’t mean you’ll immediately walk into the room and meet your Super Hero. This is the point when you should make your way to the Hero Training Center.

At the entrance, a Cast Member will check your Virtual Queue booking. You’ll then go through another check-in before being directed to the appropriate Spider-Man or Random Super Hero queue.

From the time your Virtual Queue reaches zero, we’d allow around 20 minutes to complete the remaining check-in, waiting and walk-through process, although this can vary depending on how busy the experience is.

Can children meet the Super Heroes?

Yes. The Hero Training Center is a particularly good experience for children who love Marvel, as the encounters are interactive rather than simply being a quick photograph with a character.

Children can be encouraged to copy superhero poses, movements and actions during the encounter. Adults can get involved too, and we’d definitely recommend joining in rather than standing back and leaving the interaction to the children.

Where is the Hero Training Center?

The Hero Training Center is located in Avengers Campus at Disney Adventure World, Disneyland Paris. This is the park formerly known as Walt Disney Studios Park.

It’s within Avengers Campus, close to the other Marvel attractions and experiences, making it easy to combine with the rest of your Marvel-themed visit.

Can I meet Marvel Super Heroes elsewhere at Disneyland Paris?

Yes. The Hero Training Center isn’t the only place to see Marvel characters at Disneyland Paris. Avengers Campus also has other character experiences, appearances and entertainment throughout the day.

These experiences are separate from the Hero Training Center Virtual Queue, so seeing a Super Hero elsewhere in Avengers Campus doesn’t replace your Hero Training Center booking.

If you’re particularly keen to meet as many Marvel characters as possible, it’s worth keeping an eye on the Disneyland Paris app during your visit for other character opportunities.

What happens if I miss my Virtual Queue time?

If you don’t arrive when your Virtual Queue wait time reaches zero, you risk missing your allocated experience. We’d recommend keeping an eye on the Disneyland Paris app and heading towards the Hero Training Center as your time approaches zero.

Remember that you still have the check-in process and the internal queues once you arrive, so there’s no advantage to deliberately waiting until the last possible moment.

Can I book the Hero Training Center from outside the park?

No. The Hero Training Center Virtual Queue is intended for guests who have entered the Disney Parks that day. You therefore can’t rely on booking the experience from your hotel or before you’ve entered the park.

Can I book more than one Hero Training Center encounter in a day?

We wouldn’t give a blanket answer to this because the booking rules and availability shown in the Disneyland Paris app can change. Instead, check the restrictions displayed in the app when you make your booking.

The app will show you which experiences and options are currently available to your party, so use those details as the definitive guide for your visit rather than relying on an older rule or information from a previous trip.
