Disneyland Hotel Character Meet & Greets

If you follow us on our socials or YouTube, you’ll know that meeting characters is one of our favorite activities to do whilst visiting the parks and hotels at Disneyland Paris. One of the exclusive benefits of staying at The Disneyland Hotel is the Disney Princess character meet and greets at the Royal Kids Club.

These special Royal Encounters, offer a truly magical one-to-one encounter and during our visits, we have seen many princesses including Bella, Cinderella, Snow White, Aurora, Merida, Jasmine and more!

It’s important to note that these meet and greets are exclusively available for hotel guests and must be prebooked. You can pre-book via the DLP App up to 7 days before your visit or at the hotel’s concierge desk.

However, this is not the only way you can see Disney Princesses within the hotel. The hotel offers additional experiences for all guests, such as the Royale Troupe, where two Royal Greeters welcome a princess to the hotel multiple times a day! The hotel is also the home to two character dining experiences, a buffet with Mickey Mouse and friends, and Table de Lumiere which welcomes Royal couples to your dining experience. We’ll discuss both of these within our review later.

The Disneyland Hotel Location

Unlike the Disney hotels in other parks around the world, all the hotels at Disneyland Paris are very close to the park, as you can see on the map above, however, no hotel is closer to the magic than the Disneyland Hotel.

0 Minute Walking Distance from the park

Located directly above the entrance to Disneyland Park, you can’t get closer to the magic than staying at the Disneyland Hotel. The hotel also offers rooms and suites which give a the perfect view into the park and Sleeping Beauty Castle!

Guests staying at the hotel also have the benefit of a dedicated entrance into Disneyland Park. As you exit the grand lobby and turn left, you’ll see the dedicated entrance

The Disneyland Hotel Check-in

Every time we visit Disneyland Paris, we aim to capture the magic as early as possible. For our most recent stay at the Disneyland Hotel, we decided to stay at a nearby hotel the night before to ensure we could explore the hotel before the crowds. Arriving at the Disneyland Hotel at around 7:30am, earlier than usual, we approached the check-in desk to check-in.

As rooms at Disneyland Paris are not usually ready until 3pm, we didn’t expect our room to be ready, however, we were thrilled to find our room ready right away. The Cast Member explained everything the hotel has to offer and gave us our Fairytale Guide. This magical booklet includes ;everything you need to know to have the most wonderful of stays at the Disneyland Hotel’, and highlighted key areas within the hotel booklet, including the newly refurbished swimming pool, exquisite bars, and fine dining restaurants.

To top off the best check-in service we have ever experienced, the Cast Member then arranged for a porter to collect our bags and take them directly to our room.

Our Disneyland Hotel Room

Before we talk about our room and experience we wanted to share with you the room options available at the Disneyland Hotel

  • First up, we’ve got the Superior Room. The hotel doesn’t offer standard rooms, and each superior room type has either 2 double beds sleeping up to 4 people or 1 double bed and sofa bed sleeping up to 3 people providing options for both couples and families.
  • Secondly you can choose the Superior Room with Terrace, located on the ground floor, these rooms are available with either 2 double beds or a double bed and sofa bed.
  • Finally, you have a Family Room, which sleeps up to 5 people (2 double beds and a sofa bed)
If you’re looking for a little extra magic the Disneyland Hotel offers Deluxe rooms  with many little magical extras including;

  • Private reception desk and dedicated concierge desk
  • Breakfast, tea-time and all-day drinks included at the Deluxe Lounge
For the ultimate magical experience you can choose to stay in one of the amazing Castle Club rooms and suites, which can offer…

  • Exclusive Princess breakfast at the Castle Club restaurant.
  • Park view or garden view rooms
  • Princess-themed rooms, including Rapunzel, Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast

Now, let’s talk about our room! We stayed in a standard room with a terrace. This meant our room was on the ground floor with a small seating around outside. After checking in we were excited to see our room.

Our room was very close to reception, and as all the room numbers were made very clear we had no trouble finding our room along the corridor. As we entered, we were greeted by a spacious and stylish room. Our room’s Marvel-themed decor, featuring subtle superhero motifs, made us feel instantly excited and immersed in the Marvel universe.

Upon arrival, our room included:

  • A coffee pod machine and kettle
  • Mains-powered hair dryer
  • Mini-Fridge
  • Amenities in the bathroom
  • Pillow Menu
  • Hotel-themed bathrobe and slippers

Our first impressions upon entering our room at the Disneyland Hotel were overwhelming. It had been over 4 years since we last stayed at the hotel, and it felt amazing to be back!

When we heard the hotel was getting a Royal makeover we were excited but also hopeful it wouldn’t lose its nostalgic charm, and we have to say the Imagineering team did amazing with the makeover. Everything felt new and fresh but also had little nods to its past.

The room featured two large, comfortable beds and a small desk and chair in the corner. The bed was one of the most comfortable we had stayed in, but the relaxation didn’t end there. On our bed was a Pillow Menu, offering us 7 pillow options from support to relaxation and even one for beauty sleep!

As we had a room on the ground floor we had patio-style doors which allowed plenty of natural light to fill the room. In the summer months, this would be a great place to relax.

Our bathroom at the Disneyland Hotel was an absolute delight, combining classic Victorian elegance with modern comforts. The large mirror and close-up shaving mirror were incredibly handy for getting ready each morning. We particularly appreciated the dual sinks, which added a touch of luxury and made our routines more convenient.

The Victorian-style decor gave the bathroom a timeless and sophisticated ambiance, making it feel like a step back into a grander era. The inclusion of both a bath and a shower provided flexibility, allowing us to unwind in style after a long day at the parks. Overall, the bathroom perfectly complemented the opulent feel of the hotel.

The Disneyland Hotel Restaurants and Bars

The hotel has 2 of our favourite character dining restaurants available at Disneyland Paris, while the bar offers a wide range of cocktails and champagne. The restaurants and bars at the hotel are…
  • La Table de Lumiere (table service)
  • The Royal Banquet (all you can eat buffet)
  • Fleur de Lys Bar

La Table de Lumière

As first-time guests at the Table de Lumière, an exclusive dining experience reserved for Disneyland Hotel guests, we were excited to enter and experience everything the restaurant has to offer. Inspired by the opulent Hall of Mirrors at the Royal Palace of Versailles and Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, the setting was nothing short of magical. The wall of mirrors room even features a rotating Belle and Beast dancing, adding to the fairy-tale ambiance.

Dining alongside beloved Disney Prince and Princesses made the evening truly unforgettable. Throughout our experience, we had the pleasure of meeting Belle and Prince Adam, Aurora and Prince Phillip, as well as Snow White and Florian. The following night we saw different couples enter the restaurant including Ariel and Price Eric as well as Tiana and Price Naveen.

The culinary experience matched the magical surroundings with dishes that could easily rival those of a Michelin-starred restaurant. The beef dish was particularly outstanding, perfectly cooked and presented. The Belle dessert was not only delicious but also beautifully crafted, making it a highlight of the meal and a perfect subject for those Instagram photos.

Table de Lumière is undoubtedly a splurge, being the most expensive dining option at Disneyland Paris with a price tag of 120 euros per adult. However, for those seeking a truly magical and unforgettable dining experience in the heart of Disneyland Hotel, it’s worth every penny for the impeccable service, exquisite cuisine, and enchanting atmosphere that transports you into the world of Disney dreams.

Royal Banquet

During our stay, we enjoyed both lunch and dinner (on different days) at the Royal Banquet. This restaurant was originally exclusive to guests staying at any Disney hotel, however, this recently opened to all guests visiting Disneyland Paris.

The restaurant offers four seating rooms all Royal portraits on the walls. The Prologue Room, where we rediscovered beloved Disney characters at their origins, a Family Room with portraits celebrating culinary prowess and mishaps, and the Antechamber transformed into the Villain Room intrigued with cunning portraits, adding a touch of intrigue to the dining experience. Finally, the Carousel Room delighted with its carousel-themed decor and majestic steed portraits.

To match the rooms, the Royal Banquet also featured four expansive buffet stations, each offering a delectable array of dishes to satisfy every palate. From appetizers of cooked meats and fresh seafood platters to main courses like grilled meats and themed potatoes.

Seafood lovers will love this restaurant as it offers the widest range of options including lobster and mussels. However, there is something for everyone including our favourite Tiana’s jambalaya. There are also plenty of options for children including Chicken nuggets, Mickey potatoes, and fish fingers!

However, our favourite station of the restaurant was the desserts stand with many desserts themed to Disney royalty!

Throughout our dining experience, we were graced by the presence of four beloved Disney characters in their finest royal attire! For lunch, we dined with Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Goofy, and Pluto, and at dinner, we dined with Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, and Daisy Duck.

Breakfast at the hotel

Our breakfast  was included in our stay at the Disneyland Hotel (due to having a Meal Plan) and was held inside the Royal Banquet Restaurant

The buffet has everything you could want to start your day right. Fresh fruits, assortment of pastries, cheeses, and cold cuts to create the perfect continental breakfast. We also enjoyed the cooked options, scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, sausages, Mickey waffles and fluffy pancakes – it’s a feast!

They have something for everyone here, and the view overlooking the park adds that extra touch of magic to the experience. The breakfast here is just like any other Disney hotel, but with a spectacular view to enjoy while you eat.

Disneyland Hotel Pool & Facilities

The Crystal Pool at the Disneyland Hotel is an absolute gem! The medium-sized indoor pool isn’t the largest pool on offer at the hotel at Disneyland Paris, but with its sleek design and ample natural light, it offers a convenient and relaxing retreat from the parks.

We loved how it catered to everyone, whether you’re looking to swim laps or simply unwind after a busy day at the parks. The swimming pool also features a paddling pool for kids, a sauna and a steam bath!

For those like us who prefer lounging, the comfortable chairs make it easy to relax and soak in the serene atmosphere. But if you have a little bit more energy to burn, you’ll appreciate the hotel’s fully equipped fitness room with yoga and meditation areas!.

Disneyland Hotel Royal Kids Club and the Royal Dream

Royal Kids Club offers free daycare for up to two hours for children aged 4-11. Set in a legendary library, we had the chance to explore before any children arrived. The space is enchanting, with coloring activities and magical iPads where books come to life. This is a fantastic area for children to relax or unleash their creativity. Open from 8 AM until 10 PM, it also offers the unique opportunity to meet a Disney princess until 11:30 AM, with pre-booking required via the DLP App.

The Royal Dream is a one-of-a-kind experience that transforms young girls into princesses and boys into knights with royal makeovers, including hair and costumes. We explored this charming area between bookings and were impressed by the attention to detail. Pre-booking is essential for this magical service, available from 8:30 AM to 7 PM. It’s the perfect way to add an extra sprinkle of enchantment to your child’s Disneyland adventure.
