In this review, we take a closer look at the Marvel themed details and the key features of Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel.
Hotel New York - Art of Marvel Character Meet & Greets
If you follow us on our socials or YouTube, you will know that meeting characters is one of our favourite parts of any Disney trip. One of the added benefits of staying at Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel is access to Marvel character meet and greets.
These take place inside the Marvel Hero Photo Stations, which include several themed sets designed for photos. It is more than a standard meet and greet, as you can move through different backdrops that place you into various Marvel settings.
This was one of the highlights of our stay. You are not just meeting a Marvel superhero, you also get time to explore the different photo areas, which makes the experience feel more interactive.
Our favourite set was Spider-Man’s bedroom. The room is designed upside down, which makes for some fun photos, especially when it looks like you are standing on the ceiling.
It is worth noting that these meet and greets are only available to hotel guests and must be booked in advance. You can usually reserve a slot through the Disneyland Paris app up to 7 days before your stay or at the hotel concierge. However, if you are part of a group booking, you may not be able to check in via the app or secure your meet and greet in advance, so it is worth checking this before you travel.
Disney Hotel New York - Art of Marvel Location
Unlike Disney hotels at other parks around the world, all Disneyland Paris hotels are located very close to the parks.
Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel is the second closest hotel to Disneyland Paris, with just a 5 minute walk to the park entrances. Sitting at the edge of Lake Disney and right next to Disney Village, it makes it easy to take breaks during the day or return to your room after the evening fireworks.
While walking is the most convenient option, there is also a free shuttle bus that is shared with Disney’s Sequoia Lodge. In practice, we found it was often just as quick to walk to the parks as it was to walk to the bus stop and wait.
There are two main walking routes to the parks, and we tended to use both depending on the time of day.
In the evenings, we usually walked through Disney Village, which is the most direct and straightforward route back to the hotel.
In the mornings, however, we avoided this route. The security checkpoint at the entrance to Disney Village is also used by guests from Sequoia Lodge, Hotel Cheyenne and Hotel Santa Fe, which can create longer queues at peak times. Instead, it was quicker for us to walk around the front of the hotel and use the main park security entrance via the bus terminal.
We also tried the shuttle bus on one occasion, but it took longer than expected due to routing and stops, taking around 20 minutes overall. In our experience, walking remained the fastest and most reliable option
Disney Hotel New York - Art of Marvel Check-in
Every time we visit Disneyland Paris, we aim to take the earliest flight possible to maximise our time in the parks. This often means a 6am flight into Paris, allowing us to check in and be in the parks by late morning. On this trip, after a few earlier flight disruptions due to airline overbooking, we ended up travelling from Manchester to Heathrow and then onwards to Paris, which meant we did not land until mid afternoon.
For this stay, we took the train from Charles de Gaulle Airport to Marne-la-Vallée station, which is located right outside the parks. The free shuttle buses to the Disney hotels also depart from here, and as we had our suitcases with us, we simply walked around the corner and took the shuttle to the hotel.
Arrival at the hotel
On arrival, a Cast Member met us as we exited the taxi, took our luggage and guided us straight to reception. The reception area was unusually quiet with no queue, which felt surprising compared to our previous visits.
The Cast Member at check-in was excellent and took time to explain more about the hotel, including the artwork, pool, bars and restaurants. Once everything was confirmed, we were given an envelope containing a hotel map and our Magic Passes, which act as room keys. The whole process was one of the quickest check-ins we have experienced at Disneyland Paris.
For guests on a Hotel and Ticket package, the Magic Pass also works as your park ticket and includes any meal plans or pre-booked dining.
We had booked a Superior room, as this hotel does not have standard rooms. The Cast Member explained how to reach our room and which lift to use. He also checked whether we had any restaurant reservations, as we had booked both Downtown Restaurant and Manhattan Restaurant for our stay.
Free Luggage Storage, which was delivered to our room!
On this visit, we arrived before 3pm and our room was not yet ready. The Cast Members kindly stored our luggage in the hotel’s free luggage storage while we headed straight to the parks. Later, around 5pm, we returned to the hotel to get changed and prepare for the Travel Circus event, stopping at luggage storage to collect our bags. We were surprised to be told that our luggage had already been delivered to our room. This level of service was excellent and is something we have only previously experienced at Disneyland Hotel.

Now, let’s talk about our room! We had booked a standard room, which ended up being on the third floor of Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel. After checking in, we headed towards the elevators, conveniently located just past the sleek and elegant lobby, allowing us to appreciate the impressive Marvel artwork and intricate art deco touches throughout the hotel.
The room number signage was clear, and we had no trouble finding our room along the corridor. As we entered, we were greeted by a spacious and stylish room. The room’s Marvel-themed decor, featuring subtle superhero motifs, made us feel instantly excited and immersed in the Marvel universe.
Upon arrival, our room included:
- A coffee pod machine and kettle
- Mains-powered hair dryer
- Mini-Fridge
- Amenities in the bathroom
Our first impressions upon entering our room at Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel were overwhelmingly positive. The Marvel theme was evident but not overpowering, with simple decor featuring elements from the Marvel Universe. Whilst the furniture was styled with superhero accents, created a dynamic and stylish atmosphere.
Initially, we were both impressed by the room’s decor and comfort. The room featured two large, comfortable beds and a relaxing chair in the corner. The bed was one of the most comfortable we had stayed in, making it even harder to get out of bed in the morning!
We loved the contemporary lighting fixtures and multiple charging points (plugs and USB) located next to the beds. The large window allowed plenty of natural light to fill the room. In the summer months, we would look at booking a room with a terrace to add that little extra magic to our next stay.
The bathroom in our room at Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel was the most modern we’ve seen at any of the hotels. It featured a spacious bath (not the small baths at Santa Fe) and was equipped with luxurious amenities that added an extra touch of comfort and indulgence.
The contemporary design, with sleek fixtures and large mirror, made it feel like a mini spa retreat. We particularly appreciated the high-quality toiletries provided, which enhanced the overall experience. The bathroom’s modern aesthetic and thoughtful details truly contributed to the sense of staying in a deluxe hotel.
In-room amenities…
In-room amenities included everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The television was built into the large mirror and offered a range of channels, including English language options. It was also straightforward to connect and stream from our devices.
In front of the mirror, there was a dressing table, which worked well for getting ready before heading out to the parks or evening events. The room also included a strong set of practical amenities, including a mains powered hairdryer, mini fridge, coffee pod machine, kettle, iron and ironing board. Bathrobes and slippers were also provided, which added a more comfortable feel to the stay.
Overall, our room at Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel was excellent and, at the time, it was the best on site room we had stayed in at Disneyland Paris, until our more recent stay at the Disneyland Hotel.
Hotel New York - Art of Marvel Restaurants & Bars
The hotel has 2 of our favourite restaurants at Disneyland Paris, while the bar offers amazing (and strong) unique MARVEL themed cocktails!
The restaurants and bars at the hotel are…
- Manhattan (table service)
- Downtown (all you can eat buffet)
- Skyline Bar
Manhattan
During our stay at Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel, we had the pleasure of dining at the Manhattan Restaurant, and it was an experience worth sharing. This restaurant offers an elegant and sophisticated dining experience, perfectly blending the cosmopolitan vibe of New York City with the magical touch of Marvel.
The first thing that caught our eye was the stunning Asgard-inspired chandelier, an inverted-pyramid masterpiece that immediately sets the tone for the restaurant. The plates also feature a similar design in gold, echoing the chandelier’s elegance and adding a touch of luxury to the dining experience.
We started our meal with the Burrata, Seasonal Tomatoes with Capers and Lemon Peel, Basil Coulis, and Sardinian Bread. This starter was a delightful blend of fresh flavors, with the creamy burrata perfectly complemented by the tangy tomatoes and aromatic basil coulis.
For the main course, we tried the Griddled Sea Bass Fillet with Grilled Seasonal Vegetables and Lemon Compote, as well as the Farmhouse Chicken Saltimbocca with Parma Ham. The sea bass was expertly cooked, with a crisp exterior and tender, flaky interior, and the vegetables added a lovely, earthy balance. The chicken saltimbocca was equally impressive, with the Parma ham adding a savory depth to the tender chicken.
To finish, we indulged in the Baba au Limoncello. This dessert was the perfect end to our meal, with the light, airy baba soaked in the vibrant flavors of limoncello, providing a sweet yet refreshing end to our meal.
While the Manhattan Restaurant is a bit more expensive than other dining options at Disneyland Paris, it is definitely worth it for special occasions or if you’re looking to maximize the value from your meal plan. The sophisticated ambiance, attentive service, and exquisite dishes make it a standout choice for a memorable dining experience.
Overall, the Manhattan Restaurant offers a perfect blend of luxury and flavor making it a dining experience not to be missed during your stay at Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel.
Downtown
During our stay at Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel, we had the opportunity to dine at the highly sought-after Downtown Restaurant. Known for its popularity, securing a reservation here can be a challenge, but the experience is well worth the effort. This all-you-can-eat buffet offers a delightful mix of American, Italian, and Chinese cuisine, making it a versatile dining destination for your whole family!
As an all-you-can-eat buffet, Downtown Restaurant impresses with its wide array of options. One of our favourites is the American sliders. These small burgers are freshly prepared by a chef right behind the counter, allowing us to customize them to our preference, whether well-done or medium rare.
The stir fry pork and dim sums were the stand out dishes within the Chinese options. The pork was tender and well-seasoned, while the dim sums were delicate and delicious.
The fresh pizza selection was another highlight, a thin base withmperfectly crispy crusts and a variety of toppings to choose from. The chef also produced a vegan pizza for one of our friends dining with us!
All these mains were great, but the restaurant is known for its dessert section, it’s a Marvel fan’s dream. We were treated to an array of Marvel-themed desserts that were not only delicious but also Instagram-worthy. From the chocolate Thor Hammer and Avenger macarons to the Captain America panna cotta and Groot chocolate mousse, each dessert was crafted with attention to detail and bursting with flavor.
Breakfast at the hotel
Our breakfast at the Downtown Restaurant in Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel was inside Downtown restaurant, but the same food options were offered within the Manhattan restaurant
The buffet offers a perfect mix of healthy options, continental delights, and hearty cooked breakfast favorites, catering to every guest’s preferences.
The healthy options include a vibrant array of fresh fruits, ensuring a refreshing start to your morning with choices like juicy melons, crisp apples, and succulent berries. For those who prefer a continental breakfast, there are freshly baked pastries, assorted cheeses, cold cuts, and a variety of breads, accompanied by an assortment of jams and spreads.
If you’re in the mood for a more substantial meal, the cooked breakfast section will not disappoint. Enjoy classics like scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, sausages, and fluffy pancakes. The selection is extensive, ensuring that everyone in your party finds something they love.
Overall, breakfast at Downtown Restaurant offers a balanced and delicious spread that prepares you for a day of adventures at Disneyland Paris.
