Hotel New York - Art of Marvel Character Meet & Greets
If you follow us on our socials or YouTube, you’ll know that meeting characters is one of our favorite activities and one of the exclusive perks of staying at Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel is the exclusive MARVEL character meet and greets. These special encounters take place inside the Marvel Hero Photo Stations, which also offer multiple Marvel-themed sets for even more fantastic photo opportunities.
Character meet and greets at Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel is a true highlight, not only do you get to meet a MARVEL superhero, but you also get the chance to visit multiple photo locations around the room transporting you into the many worlds of MARVEL.
Our favourite room was Spiderman’s bedroom. Designed upside down you can capture some amazing photos within the room, like the one above where it appears we’re hanging from the ceiling.
It’s important to note that these meet and greets are exclusively available for hotel guests and must be prebooked. You can pre-book via the DLP App up to 7 days before your visit or at the hotel’s concierge desk.
Disney Hotel New York - Art of Marvel Location
Unlike the Disney hotels in other parks around the world, all the hotels at Disneyland Paris are very close to the park, as you can see on the map above.
5 Minute Walking Distance from the park
Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel stands as the second closest hotel to Disneyland Paris, a mere 5-minute walk from the parks. Nestled at the foot of Lake Disney and adjacent to Disney Village, it offered us convenient opportunities to take quick breaks from the park and easily return to our room after enjoying late-night fireworks.
While the hotel’s proximity to the parks makes walking a convenient option, guests can opt for the complimentary shuttle bus service if desired. The hotel shares a shuttle bus with the Sequoia Hotel, and in our experience, it was just as quick to walk to the hotel as it was to walk to the bus terminal.
There are two ways you can walk to the hotel, and depending on the time of day we changed our route to and from the parks. When walking back to the hotel we always took the route through Disney Village, this is the quickest way to walk from the hotel to parks.
However, in the morning the 2 line security checkpoint located at the entrance to Disney Village is also used by the Sequoia Lodge, Cheyenne and Santa Fe, meaning lines can get very long. This meant each morning it was quicker and easier for us to walk out the front of the hotel and through the bus terminal to use the main security gates into the park.
You can also take the bus, but the morning we tried this, we drove from our hotel to the Sequoia Lodge and then to the parks. This took around 20 minutes, and took far longer than walking.
Disney Hotel New York - Art of Marvel Check-in
Every time we visit Disneyland Paris, we always try to catch the earliest flight possible to maximize our time in the parks, which often means taking a 6 am flight to Paris, allowing us to check into our hotel and be in the parks by 11 am. After multiple issues with our flights due to the airline overbooking the plane, we had to fly from Manchester to Heathrow and then Heathrow to Paris, meaning we didn’t actually land until mid-afternoon.
For this stay, we got the train from Charles de Gaulle Airport to the Marne la Vallee station located right outside of the parks. Conveniently the free shuttle busses to the Disney hotels are also located here, and as we had our suitcases with us, we walked around the corner and used the free shuttle to the hotel.
As we exited the bus we were greeted by a Cast Member, who took our suitcases off us and guided us to the reception desk. Surprisingly, the reception desk didn’t have a queue, maybe we were lucky or it was due to the time, but we hadn’t seen this area so empty before or since our visit.
The Cast Member assisting us at the check-in desk was amazing and very helpful, even providing us with some additional details about the hotel, its artwork, swimming pool, bars and restaurants. After confirming all of our details, he handed us an envelope containing a detailed hotel map and our Magic Passes, which served as our room keys. The whole check-in process was one of the quickest we’ve experienced at Disneyland Paris.
For those who purchased a Hotel & Ticket package, these Magic Passes are also your park tickets and include your meal plan or any pre-booked character dining experiences.
We had chosen a superior room (the hotel doesn’t have ‘standard rooms’) and the Cast Member at the check-in showed us which lift to take and how to get to our room. As we didn’t have a meal plan, he also asked if we had pre-booked any restaurants. We had booked both restaurants at the hotel, the Downtown buffet, and the Manhattan table service restaurant.
As we arrived after 3pm, the Cast Member confirmed that our room was ready and we could go straight to our room, and that they would arrange for our bags to be delivered shortly.

Now, let’s talk about our room! We had booked a standard room, which ended up being on the third floor of Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel. After checking in, we headed towards the elevators, conveniently located just past the sleek and elegant lobby, allowing us to appreciate the impressive Marvel artwork and intricate art deco touches throughout the hotel.
The room number signage was clear, and we had no trouble finding our room along the corridor. As we entered, we were greeted by a spacious and stylish room. The room’s Marvel-themed decor, featuring subtle superhero motifs, made us feel instantly excited and immersed in the Marvel universe.
Upon arrival, our room included:
- A coffee pod machine and kettle
- Mains-powered hair dryer
- Mini-Fridge
- Amenities in the bathroom
Our first impressions upon entering our room at Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel were overwhelmingly positive. The Marvel theme was evident but not overpowering, with simple decor featuring elements from the Marvel Universe. Whilst the furniture was styled with superhero accents, created a dynamic and stylish atmosphere.
Initially, we were both impressed by the room’s decor and comfort. The room featured two large, comfortable beds and a relaxing chair in the corner. The bed was one of the most comfortable we had stayed in, making it even harder to get out of bed in the morning!
We loved the contemporary lighting fixtures and multiple charging points (plugs and USB) located next to the beds. The large window allowed plenty of natural light to fill the room. In the summer months, we would look at booking a room with a terrace to add that little extra magic to our next stay.
The bathroom in our room at Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel was the most modern we’ve seen at any of the hotels. It featured a spacious bath (not the small baths at Santa Fe) and was equipped with luxurious amenities that added an extra touch of comfort and indulgence.
The contemporary design, with sleek fixtures and large mirror, made it feel like a mini spa retreat. We particularly appreciated the high-quality toiletries provided, which enhanced the overall experience. The bathroom’s modern aesthetic and thoughtful details truly contributed to the sense of staying in a deluxe hotel.

In-room amenities…
The room included a TV, hidden within the large mirror, provided a variety of channels, including English-language options, and it was surprisingly easy to stream to. There was a dressing table in front of the mirror and we were happy to see multiple amenities within the room, from a mains powered hairdryer, mini fridge, coffee pod machine, kettle, iron, ironing board, bathrobes, slippers and more!
Overall, our room at Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel was amazing and was the best on-site room we have stayed at Disneyland Paris. (until our recent stay at the Disneyland Hotel)
Hotel New York - Art of Marvel Restaurants & Bars
The hotel has 2 of our favourite restaurants at Disneyland Paris, while the bar offers amazing (and strong) unique MARVEL themed cocktails!
The restaurants and bars at the hotel are…
- Manhattan (table service)
- Downtown (all you can eat buffet)
- Skyline Bar

Manhattan
During our stay at Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel, we had the pleasure of dining at the Manhattan Restaurant, and it was an experience worth sharing. This restaurant offers an elegant and sophisticated dining experience, perfectly blending the cosmopolitan vibe of New York City with the magical touch of Marvel.
The first thing that caught our eye was the stunning Asgard-inspired chandelier, an inverted-pyramid masterpiece that immediately sets the tone for the restaurant. The plates also feature a similar design in gold, echoing the chandelier’s elegance and adding a touch of luxury to the dining experience.
We started our meal with the Burrata, Seasonal Tomatoes with Capers and Lemon Peel, Basil Coulis, and Sardinian Bread. This starter was a delightful blend of fresh flavors, with the creamy burrata perfectly complemented by the tangy tomatoes and aromatic basil coulis.
For the main course, we tried the Griddled Sea Bass Fillet with Grilled Seasonal Vegetables and Lemon Compote, as well as the Farmhouse Chicken Saltimbocca with Parma Ham. The sea bass was expertly cooked, with a crisp exterior and tender, flaky interior, and the vegetables added a lovely, earthy balance. The chicken saltimbocca was equally impressive, with the Parma ham adding a savory depth to the tender chicken.
To finish, we indulged in the Baba au Limoncello. This dessert was the perfect end to our meal, with the light, airy baba soaked in the vibrant flavors of limoncello, providing a sweet yet refreshing end to our meal.
While the Manhattan Restaurant is a bit more expensive than other dining options at Disneyland Paris, it is definitely worth it for special occasions or if you’re looking to maximize the value from your meal plan. The sophisticated ambiance, attentive service, and exquisite dishes make it a standout choice for a memorable dining experience.
Overall, the Manhattan Restaurant offers a perfect blend of luxury and flavor making it a dining experience not to be missed during your stay at Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel.
Downtown
During our stay at Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel, we had the opportunity to dine at the highly sought-after Downtown Restaurant. Known for its popularity, securing a reservation here can be a challenge, but the experience is well worth the effort. This all-you-can-eat buffet offers a delightful mix of American, Italian, and Chinese cuisine, making it a versatile dining destination for your whole family!
As an all-you-can-eat buffet, Downtown Restaurant impresses with its wide array of options. One of our favourites is the American sliders. These small burgers are freshly prepared by a chef right behind the counter, allowing us to customize them to our preference, whether well-done or medium rare.
The stir fry pork and dim sums were the stand out dishes within the Chinese options. The pork was tender and well-seasoned, while the dim sums were delicate and delicious.
The fresh pizza selection was another highlight, a thin base withmperfectly crispy crusts and a variety of toppings to choose from. The chef also produced a vegan pizza for one of our friends dining with us!
All these mains were great, but the restaurant is known for its dessert section, it’s a Marvel fan’s dream. We were treated to an array of Marvel-themed desserts that were not only delicious but also Instagram-worthy. From the chocolate Thor Hammer and Avenger macarons to the Captain America panna cotta and Groot chocolate mousse, each dessert was crafted with attention to detail and bursting with flavor.
Breakfast at the hotel
Our breakfast at the Downtown Restaurant in Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel was inside Downtown restaurant, but the same food options were offered within the Manhattan restaurant
The buffet offers a perfect mix of healthy options, continental delights, and hearty cooked breakfast favorites, catering to every guest’s preferences.
The healthy options include a vibrant array of fresh fruits, ensuring a refreshing start to your morning with choices like juicy melons, crisp apples, and succulent berries. For those who prefer a continental breakfast, there are freshly baked pastries, assorted cheeses, cold cuts, and a variety of breads, accompanied by an assortment of jams and spreads.
If you’re in the mood for a more substantial meal, the cooked breakfast section will not disappoint. Enjoy classics like scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, sausages, and fluffy pancakes. The selection is extensive, ensuring that everyone in your party finds something they love.
