Disneyland Paris Character Dining Guide (2026 Update)

updated 20th May 2026

If you are dreaming of meeting your favourite Disney characters while enjoying a meal, 2026 is shaping up to be an exciting, and changing, year at Disneyland Paris.

In 2026, there are officially five character dining locations across the resort. However, at any one time, only four will be available to guests. This is due to a key change in the line-up: Plaza Gardens is closed at the end of March for a long-term refurbishment, while the brand-new Regal View Restaurant & Lounge in Disney Adventure World opened on 29 March, alongside the launch of World of Frozen.

This transition marks a clear shift in the character dining landscape. Regal View brings another Princess dining experience, while Plaza Gardens extended closure see’s and end of classic Disney character dining.

What is Disney Character Dining?

Character dining at Disney is one of those experiences that sounds simple on paper, but ends up being a highlight of the trip. You sit down for a meal and characters come to your table. It means you can take photos, have a quick chat, and enjoy the moment without rushing between queues.

In 2026, character dining at Disneyland Paris is spread across five locations: Regal View Restaurant & Lounge, Plaza Gardens, Auberge de Cendrillon, Royal Banquet, and La Table de Lumière. The line-up is a bit in flux this year, with Plaza Gardens closing and Regal View stepping in, so depending on when you visit you will only find four of these running at any one time.

Each spot has its own feel. You can sit down for a princess-led experience at Auberge de Cendrillon, or go for a more relaxed buffet setting where Mickey and friends make the rounds. The format changes slightly depending on where you book, but the idea stays the same. You get a proper meal and a steady stream of Disney characters stopping by your table.

Whether you are planning a slow breakfast or a more formal dinner, there is usually a character dining option to fit the kind of day you want in the parks.

Disneyland Paris Character Dining Restaurants

There are currently several character dining restaurants across Disneyland Paris, each offering a different atmosphere, menu, and selection of characters. Some focus on Mickey and his friends, while others give you the chance to meet Disney Princesses in a more immersive setting.

Below, you’ll find all of the character dining restaurants available at Disneyland Paris. Click on each restaurant title to read our full review, see photos, discover which characters typically appear, and decide whether it’s the right choice for your visit.

Best Character Dining for Mickey & Friends at Disneyland Paris

If meeting Mickey Mouse and his friends is your priority, Royal Banquet is our top choice.

Located inside the Disneyland Hotel, Royal Banquet gives you the chance to meet Mickey, Minnie and other Disney favourites dressed in royal outfits exclusive to the restaurant. The character interactions are excellent, and because lunch and dinner sittings are longer than breakfast experiences, you’ll usually have plenty of time with each character.

The setting also feels more premium than the other character dining restaurants at Disneyland Paris. The restaurant itself is beautifully themed and the buffet offers a good variety of options for both adults and children.

For guests looking for the classic Disney character dining experience with Mickey and friends, Royal Banquet is currently the best option available.

Best Character Dining for Disney Princesses at Disneyland Paris

For Disney Princess fans, Regal View Restaurant is the clear winner.

While other character dining experiences may include princess appearances, Regal View typically offers the opportunity to meet the largest number of Disney Princesses during a single meal. It’s common to meet around four princesses during your visit, making it the most efficient way to collect photos and autographs without spending time in character queues.

This makes Regal View particularly popular with younger children who are focused on meeting as many princesses as possible. If your child has been talking about Cinderella, Belle or Rapunzel for months before your trip, this is the restaurant we’d recommend booking first.

If your main goal is princess interactions, we think Regal View currently offers the strongest character dining experience at Disneyland Paris.

Best Value Character Dining Experience at Disneyland Paris

Character dining is never cheap, but if we’re looking at overall value for money, we’d give the edge to Royal Banquet now that Plaza Gardens has closed for refurbishment.

The combination of character interactions, the quality of the setting, the variety of food and the number of characters you can meet makes it one of the strongest all-round experiences available. You’re getting more than just a meal. You’re combining dining, entertainment and character meet-and-greets in a single reservation.

While it is one of the more expensive options, we feel the overall experience justifies the cost better than some of the alternatives.

If you’re only planning to book one character meal during your Disneyland Paris trip, Royal Banquet offers the best balance of food, atmosphere and character encounters.

Best Character Dining for First-Time Visitors to Disneyland Paris

For first-time visitors, we’d recommend either Royal Banquet or Regal View Restaurant.

The best choice depends entirely on which characters you most want to meet.

If Mickey and Minnie are at the top of your list, choose Royal Banquet. If Disney Princesses are the priority, book Regal View instead.

Both restaurants deliver the character dining experience most guests imagine when planning a Disneyland Paris holiday. The characters spend time at each table, the settings feel special and you’ll leave with plenty of photos and memories.

One thing that surprises many first-time visitors is how long character dining can take. For lunch and dinner reservations, we always allow at least two hours. Character visits happen throughout the meal, so rushing the experience isn’t recommended.

Best Fine Dining Character Experience at Disneyland Paris

La Table de Lumière offers the most luxurious character dining experience at Disneyland Paris.

Also located inside the Disneyland Hotel, this restaurant combines fine dining with appearances from Disney Princes and Princesses. The atmosphere feels noticeably more refined than the buffet-style character dining locations, making it a popular choice for adults, couples and guests celebrating a special occasion.

The restaurant focuses as much on the dining experience as the character interactions, creating a different experience from the more family-focused character meals elsewhere in the resort.

If you’re looking for the most premium character dining restaurant at Disneyland Paris, La Table de Lumière is the standout choice.

Best Character Dining for a Special Occasion at Disneyland Paris

If you’re celebrating a birthday, anniversary or another special milestone, we’d recommend La Table de Lumière.

The elegant setting inside the Disneyland Hotel immediately feels more special than the other character dining locations. Combined with table service, beautifully presented dishes and interactions with Disney Princes and Princesses, it creates an experience that feels worthy of a celebration.

While families with young children will still enjoy the restaurant, we think it particularly suits guests looking to mark an important occasion during their Disneyland Paris trip.

For a memorable celebration meal with a little Disney magic included, La Table de Lumière is hard to beat.

Disneyland Paris Character Dining Locations

Auberge de Cendrillon
Character Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner

  • Location: Inside Disneyland Park
  • Meal type: Table Service
  • Meal options, Breakfast: €60 for Adults, €40 for Children (ages 3-11)
  • Meal options, Lunch & Dinner : €100 for Adults (or €120 with Wine), €50 for Children (ages 3-11)
  • Type of Characters: Cinderella & other Disney Princesses
  • FROM APRIL 2026 – Mickey will join Disney Princesses!

Auberge de Cendrillon (Cinderella Inn) remains the primary Disney Princess character dining location at Disneyland Paris.

Set in the heart of Fantasyland, it places you right inside Cinderella’s story, with a setting that feels straight out of a fairytale. Inside, you will find ornate chandeliers, royal tapestries, and detailed murals that gently nod to Cinderella’s journey without ever feeling overdone. It is one of those restaurants where you naturally slow down a bit once you step through the door.

The menu leans into classic French-inspired dishes, with a more refined feel than your typical park meal. You will usually find options such as rich meat dishes, seasonal fish, and carefully presented desserts that feel a step up from standard theme park dining.

The real draw, of course, is the character experience. Traditionally, this has been a Princess-focused meal with Cinderella joined by other Disney Princesses such as Aurora, Snow White, and Belle.

In 2026, there is a notable change to the line-up. With Plaza Gardens closing, Mickey Mouse will now also be appearing at Auberge alongside the Disney Princesses. It is a slightly unexpected mix, and one that shifts the experience away from being purely princess-led.

Whether this remains a long-term change or a temporary adjustment is something we are still watching closely, but for now, it marks a clear change in how this dining experience feels.

Which characters can I see at Auberge de Cendrillon?
The character line-up at Auberge de Cendrillon has changed quite a bit following the recent updates to character dining across Disneyland Paris.

In 2026, the experience now varies depending on whether you visit for breakfast or lunch and dinner.

At breakfast, you will typically meet 3 characters:

  • Cinderella
  • 1 Disney Princess
  • 1 VIP character (either Mickey, Perla or Suzy)

At lunch and dinner, you will typically meet 4 characters

  • Cinderella
  • 2 Disney Princesses
  • 1 VIP character (either Mickey, Perla or Suzy)

Lunch and Dinner see’s a noticeable change from previous years, when guests could expect up to 6 characters during a sitting. The experience is now more structured, but still offers a good mix of Princess and classic Disney character moments at the table.

Across recent visits, Princess appearances have included names such as Snow White, Aurora, Ariel, Jasmine, Rapunzel, Merida and Mulan. Alongside them, you may also see Suzy, Perla, or occasionally Mickey Mouse as the VIP guest.

It is worth noting that some Princesses appear less frequently than others. Belle and Tiana, for example, tend to be more commonly found at other dining locations, particularly La Table de Lumière, rather than Auberge.

As always, character appearances are not guaranteed and can vary from day to day, but this updated format gives a clearer idea of what you can realistically expect in 2026.

We have already enjoyed both breakfast and dinner at The Regal View Restaurant & Lounge, and the experience changes quite noticeably depending on which sitting you choose.

Breakfast is lighter, quicker paced, but still very calm. You are given a set dining window, so it is structured without ever feeling rushed. One of the standout details is the themed coloured croissants, which set the tone straight away. It feels playful but still polished, and there is time to enjoy both the food and the character visits without everything feeling hurried.

Dinner is a very different pace. There is no sense of rushing between courses, and the whole experience unfolds much more slowly. The meal takes its time, but that suits the setting. You are dining in a space with beautiful views across Disney Adventure Way, and it naturally encourages you to slow down and settle into it.

Across both sittings, we have seen all of the Princesses apart from Mulan so far. From what friends have told us, she appears more often during lunch services, so we are still hoping to catch her on a future visit.

One of the nicest touches at Regal View is seeing the Princesses in outfits you do not normally associate with them. This is an exclusive character dining experience at Disneyland Paris, and the Princesses appear in more relaxed, village-style looks rather than their traditional gowns. Aurora often appears as Briar Rose, Ariel in her town dress, and Belle in her village outfit, which gives the interactions a slightly more natural feel compared to the usual royal presentation.

Overall, it is this combination of slower dining, softer character styling, and the setting itself that makes Regal View feel quite distinct from the other Princess dining options in the resort.

Disneyland Paris Character Dining FAQ

Within this section we’ll answer the most common questions about Disneyland Paris opening times to ensure you’re well-prepared for your magical adventure!

What is the best character dining restaurant at Disneyland Paris?

If you’re only planning to book one character dining experience, we recommend either Royal Banquet or Regal View Restaurant.

Royal Banquet is the best choice for guests who want to meet Mickey, Minnie and other classic Disney characters in an impressive setting inside the Disneyland Hotel. Regal View is our top pick for Disney Princess fans, as you’ll usually meet more princesses here than at any other character dining location.

Which Disneyland Paris character dining restaurant is best for Disney Princesses?

Regal View Restaurant is currently the best character dining experience for Disney Princess fans.

During a typical meal, you’ll usually meet around four Disney Princesses, making it the character dining experience with the largest princess presence. If meeting princesses is the main reason you’re booking character dining, this is the restaurant we’d choose.

Which Disneyland Paris character dining restaurant is best for Mickey Mouse?

Royal Banquet is our favourite option for meeting Mickey Mouse and his friends.

The characters appear in exclusive royal outfits and the restaurant offers a premium buffet experience inside the Disneyland Hotel. For many guests, it’s the classic Disneyland Paris character dining experience.

How far in advance can you book Disneyland Paris character dining?

If you’ve booked your hotel and tickets directly through Disneyland Paris, you can usually reserve character dining up to 12 months in advance.

If you’re staying off-site or have booked through a third party, reservations typically become available 60 days before your visit. Character breakfasts may have different availability and can sometimes only be booked up to three days in advance.

How do you book character dining at Disneyland Paris?

The easiest way to book is through the Disneyland Paris app.

If you’ve booked a Hotel and Ticket Package directly with Disneyland Paris, we recommend adding your character dining reservations during the booking process whenever possible, as popular restaurants can sell out quickly.

You can also make reservations through the Disneyland Paris telephone booking line.

Can you book character dining without staying at a Disney hotel?

Yes. You do not need to stay at a Disney Hotel to book character dining.

Reservations are available to all guests, subject to availability. However, Disney Hotel guests who book directly with Disneyland Paris generally have access to reservations earlier than other visitors.

Is character dining included in Disneyland Paris meal plans?

Character dining is only included as standard for guests staying at the Disneyland Hotel with an eligible meal plan.

Guests staying at other Disney Hotels can still enjoy character dining by paying a supplement. The amount varies depending on the restaurant you choose.

Is Disneyland Paris character dining worth the money?

We think so, especially if meeting Disney characters is an important part of your trip.

Character dining combines a meal with multiple character meet-and-greets, allowing you to collect photos and autographs without spending time queuing elsewhere in the parks. The value will depend on which characters you want to meet, but each restaurant offers something slightly different.

How long does character dining take at Disneyland Paris?

Many first-time visitors underestimate how long character dining can take.

For lunch and dinner reservations, we always allow around two hours. Characters visit tables throughout the meal, so rushing through your reservation can mean missing some interactions.

Breakfast experiences are usually shorter and often last around an hour.

What is the best meal time for character dining?

We generally prefer breakfast or dinner.

Breakfast allows you to start your day with character interactions before heading into the parks. Dinner can work particularly well because much of the daytime entertainment has finished by early evening, making it easier to enjoy a relaxed meal before finding a spot for the nighttime spectacular.

Lunch can be enjoyable, but it does take up valuable park time during some of the busiest hours of the day.

Can you celebrate a birthday at Disneyland Paris character dining?

Yes. All Disneyland Paris character dining restaurants offer birthday cakes.

We recommend requesting your cake in advance when making your reservation, although it may still be possible to arrange one on the day. La Table de Lumière also offers a special birthday cake option for guests celebrating a special occasion.

Is character dining only for families with children?

Not at all.

We regularly enjoy character dining as adults and there are plenty of couples and adult groups dining at these restaurants. While children often get the most excited about the character interactions, many Disney fans of all ages enjoy the experience.

What happened to Plaza Gardens character dining?

Plaza Gardens is currently closed for a lengthy refurbishment.

At the time of writing, the restaurant is expected to remain closed until at least 2027. Disneyland Paris has not confirmed whether character dining will return to Plaza Gardens when it eventually reopens.

For now, the main character dining locations at Disneyland Paris are Royal Banquet, Regal View Restaurant, Auberge de Cendrillon and La Table de Lumière.
