Disney Newport Bay Club Review (2026)
Nestled along the scenic shores of Lake Disney, Disney’s Newport Bay Club combines nautical styling with convenient access to the parks.
Positioned on the edge of the lake, this 4-star hotel offers strong value while still being close to the Disneyland Paris parks. Each day, it was around a 10 to 15 minute walk through Disney Village to reach the entrances. On days when we wanted a break from walking, we used the complimentary shuttle bus for a quick and easy journey.
Having stayed at Disney’s Newport Bay Club multiple times, we are sharing our honest review and experiences to help you plan your stay with confidence and decide if this is the hotel for you.
This is a popular fan favourite hotel and offers a wide choice of rooms, including lake view options, suites and family rooms that sleep up to six guests.
In this review of Disney’s Newport Bay Club, we explore the nautical theming, room options and key highlights from our stays.
Disney Newport Bay Club Character Meet & Greets
If you follow us on our socials or YouTube, you will know one of our favourite parts of any Disneyland Paris stay is meeting characters. One of the benefits of staying at the Disney hotels is the daily character meet and greets. At Disney’s Newport Bay Club, you also get the chance to meet characters in exclusive nautical themed outfits you will not see in the parks.
When we first stayed here, the character meet and greets took place in the West Wing, just past the Captain’s Quarters bar. Across our stays, we have met Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Goofy and Pluto, all dressed in their themed resort outfits.
More recently, the meet and greets have moved to the main lobby, which has made them feel more central and noticeably more popular, with queues building more quickly at peak times.
We always enjoy these hotel meet and greets as they are a relaxed way to start or end the Disney day. At Newport Bay Club, they have typically taken place in the evening from around 7.30pm, although times can vary. We always recommend checking the character meet and greet board at check in for the most up to date schedule.
One thing we have consistently noticed is that we have not seen Disney photographers present at this meet and greet, so it is worth being ready to use your own camera or phone for photos.
Disney Hotel Newport Bay Club Location
Unlike the Disney hotels in other parks around the world, all the hotels at Disneyland Paris are very close to the park, as you can see on the map above.
15-Minute Walking Distance from the park
Disney’s Newport Bay Club sits at the top of Lake Disney, offering a scenic and peaceful setting that is still close to the Disneyland Paris parks. It is the fourth closest hotel to the parks and has its own dedicated security access point into Disney Village and the park entrances. The other nearby security gate on the lake side is used by Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel, Disney’s Sequoia Lodge, Disney’s Hotel Cheyenne and Disney’s Hotel Santa Fe.
On our visit, we timed the walk from our room to the entrance of Disneyland Paris, which took around 14 minutes in total. This included passing through security at a non peak time and walking through Disney Village at a relaxed pace.
Although the hotel is very close to the parks, guests can also use the free shuttle bus service if they prefer. During our stays, we found Newport Bay Club runs its own dedicated shuttle, with buses arriving roughly every 15 to 20 minutes, making transfers quick and straightforward when you do not feel like walking.
Disney Newport Bay Club Check-in
Every time we visit Disneyland Paris, we aim to take the earliest flight possible to maximise our time in the parks. This often means a 6am flight into Paris, allowing us to check into the hotel and be in the parks by late morning.
Unlike arriving from the parks side, where you walk past Lake Disney, we entered the hotel from the drop off point and saw the hotel’s large nautical themed facade as we arrived at Disney’s Newport Bay Club. Stepping into the grand lobby, we were surprised to find the check in queue empty, although the zig zag queue system in place suggested this is not always the case.
The Cast Member at check in was warm and efficient, quickly processing everything and handing us an envelope with a hotel map and our Magic Passes, which act as room keys. For guests on a Hotel and Ticket package, the Magic Pass also works as your park ticket and includes any meal plans or pre booked dining experiences.
The Cast Member also took time to explain the hotel in detail, including room location, swimming pool, bars and restaurants. With over 1,000 rooms and long corridors, the hotel map proved essential for navigating our way around. We had booked a standard room and were shown exactly how to reach it, with clear directions marked on the map.
As we had not booked a meal plan, we were also given information on the dining options available and directed to the concierge desk for any restaurant reservations we had not already made.
After everything was confirmed, we were informed that our room was not yet ready. This was expected, as Disneyland Paris officially states rooms are available from 3pm onwards, and we usually arrive much earlier in the day. We were advised that luggage could be stored at the hotel and that we would receive a text or email when our room was ready. If nothing arrived by 3pm, we could return to reception to check the status.
The luggage storage area at Newport Bay Club is located just outside to the left of the main entrance. There was a short queue, and after around 10 minutes we dropped off our bags, collected our luggage tags and headed straight to the parks.
Our Disney Newport Bay Club Room
Before we talk about our room and experience we wanted to share with you the room options available at Disney Newport Bay Club, and surprisingly there’s not a huge difference in cost per night when we visited, please see the screenshot below.
- First up, we’ve got the Standard Room. This room type has either 2 double beds sleeping up to 4 people or 1 double bed sleeping up to 2 people providing options for both couples and families.
- The hotel also offers Lake View Rooms facing Lake Disney. Unlike the lakeside rooms at Sequoia, the Lake View rooms offer amazing views over Lake Disney. These rooms feature 2 double beds.
- The final room type is the Superior Room with Terrace which offers ground floor rooms with a small outdoor space. The room features 2 double beds and sleeps up to 4 people.
- Private reception desk
- Bathrobes and slippers
- Iron & ironing board
- Sweet and savoury snacks from 4 pm to 5:45 pm
- Access to the private lounge from 12 pm to 10 pm, serving hot and soft drinks
- American buffet breakfast from 7 am to 11 am,
- Mini-fridge in each room
Now, let’s talk about our room! We had booked a standard room which was located on the 3rd floor of the Newport Bay Club. After checking in, we headed towards the elevators, conveniently located just past the grand lobby area. This seemed to be the longest walk we had in any hotel to get to our room, but this gave us time to take in the charming maritime touches.
The room number signage was clear and we had no trouble locating it. As we entered, we were greeted by a spacious room. The room’s subtle nautical theme, with its blues and whites, made us feel instantly relaxed.
Arriving at our room…
- Coffee machine and kettle
- Hairdryer (basic) fixed to the bathroom wall
- No fridge
- Single used plastics in bathroom
Our first impressions upon entering our room at Disney’s Newport Bay Club were overwhelmingly positive. The nautical theme was immediately evident, with decor reminding us of a grand ocean liner, and fans of Disney’s Yacht Club Resort at Walt Disney World would love the design and style.
The furniture, styled to look like vintage travel trunks, and the navy blue and white color scheme created a charming maritime atmosphere.
Initially, we were both impressed by the room’s decor and comfort. The room featured two comfortable double beds with Mickey-shaped wooden headboards, adorned with crisp white linens and a variety of pillows that catered to different preferences. The beds here are on the firmer side but we found them comfortable and slept well each night.
We appreciated the cozy maritime lighting fixtures next to the beds, complete with illustrated ship anchors. The large window, although offering a less-than-magical view of the hotel’s maintenance areas, still allowed loads of natural light to fill the room. We did have a quick chat why we didn’t pay the slight upcharge for the Lake View because that would have been the perfect addition to the room.
The room included a TV with a selection of English-language channels, a dressing table with a mirror, and ample storage space with a chest of drawers and a separate dressing area. This area also housed a safe, an ironing board, and an iron, which came in handy. One notable drawback was the limited number of electrical outlets, with none conveniently located by the nightstands. However, like we saw in Sequoia Lodge, the hotel had introduced a large charging block with multiple plug sockets and USB charging units.
In-room amenities…
When it comes to in-room amenities, our room was equipped with a kettle and 2 glass bottles of water, along with iron and ironing board in the wardrobe.
Additionally, towels and toiletries are included within the bathroom. Unlike some of the other hotels at Disneyland Paris the body wash, shampoo, and conditioner were provided in single use plastic bottles with Mickey heads. These were great keepsakes for our stay!
A hairdryer is also attached to the wall in the bathroom, however, as always this is very basic and low-powered meaning it’s not the best.
Disney Newport Bay Club Restaurants & Bars
When we checked in the Cast Member explained the dining options available to us at Disney’s Newport Bay Club hotel.
- Yacht Club (table service)
- Cape Cod (all you can eat buffet)
- Captain’s Quarters Bar and Lounge
Yacht Club
The Yacht Club is a table service restaurant, offering a more upscale dining experience with its sophisticated, nautical-themed decor and attentive service.
Having dined at the Yacht Club Restaurant, we can confidently say it’s a fantastic choice for seafood lovers. The menu features a variety of delightful options such as warm scallops, mussels, clam chowder, fillet of cod, and seafood linguine.
Each dish we tried was prepared to perfection, with the warm scallops being a particular highlight. While the emphasis is on seafood, the restaurant also offers some non-seafood options for those with different preferences. However, it’s worth noting that the restaurant does have a noticeable seafood smell, which might be a consideration for some guests.
Cape Cod
Cape Cod Restaurant at Disney’s Newport Bay Club is a fantastic choice for those who enjoy a variety of flavors in a relaxed, buffet-style setting. As an all-you-can-eat buffet, Cape Cod offers an impressive selection of dishes to satisfy all tastes. Seafood lovers will appreciate the fresh and delicious options, including prawns, smoked salmon, and seafood salads, which are consistently well-prepared and flavorful.
The buffet also caters to those who prefer non-seafood options, with a range of meats, pastas, and vegetarian dishes, ensuring there’s something for everyone.
The nautical decor of Cape Cod adds to the overall dining experience, evoking the charm of a seaside eatery. The atmosphere is casual and family-friendly, making it an ideal spot for a relaxed meal after a day in the parks. With its wide selection of food and inviting ambiance, Cape Cod Restaurant is a delightful dining option at Newport Bay Club.
The buffet at Cape Cod is priced €45 per adult and €25 per child, making it on par as the other buffets at Disneyland Paris.
Captain Quarters
Captain’s Quarters at Disney’s Newport Bay Club is a hidden gem for those seeking a relaxing atmosphere and delightful drinks. The ambiance is warm and inviting, with nautical decor that perfectly complements the maritime theme of the hotel.
The highlight of our visit was the Mauna Loa, a refreshing pineapple rum drink. The drink menu offers a variety of cocktails and mocktails to suit different tastes, ensuring there’s something for everyone.
With its laid-back ambiance, friendly service, and delicious drinks, Captain’s Quarters is a must-visit at Newport Bay Club.
Disney Newport Bay Club swimming pool
The Nantucket Pool at Disney’s Newport Bay Club is a real highlight of the hotel and a great place to unwind after a day in the parks. Located on the ground floor in its own dedicated building, the pool area benefits from large windows that let in plenty of natural light. From inside, you can also see guests walking along Lake Disney, which adds to the relaxed atmosphere.
The pool itself is well designed, with an indoor section that flows into a small outdoor area through a connecting water channel. The water is comfortably heated, and in the evening the outdoor section is closed off, creating a quieter and more enclosed space.
One of the standout features is the small hot tub, tucked away for those looking for a bit more relaxation. The pool is also split into different areas, including a children’s section, which helps keep the space organised for families.
A fun extra is the themed ship structure near the pool. After entering the area, you can walk up a set of steps and onto the ship, which doubles as a viewing platform overlooking the pool space.
Practical details are well covered too. Towels are available at the pool reception, and a Cast Member is on hand to explain the locker system. The lockers use simple number locks and are easy to use.
The changing area is mixed gender with individual cubicles for privacy. This worked well during our stay, although it is something worth being aware of depending on personal preference.
There are plenty of loungers both inside and outside, so it is easy to find a spot to relax. We enjoyed switching between the outdoor area and the quieter indoor space, making it a great place to rest and recharge between park days.
