There is a new reason to get excited about the upcoming The Lion King attraction at Disneyland Paris. A brand-new Scar Audio-Animatronics figure will make its debut as part of the attraction, bringing one of Disney’s most memorable villains into the heart of the Pride Lands.
Disneyland Paris has revealed new concept art showing Scar standing in Simba’s path during a confrontation inspired by the iconic climax of the 1994 animated classic. It gives us our first look at how the attraction will bring one of the film’s most important moments to life.
The new attraction is currently under construction at Disney Adventure World, forming the centrepiece of a brand-new immersive world based on The Lion King. Construction began in autumn 2025, and the first structures are now starting to rise beside Adventure Bay, near World of Frozen.
We’ve been keeping an eye on the progress of the new land, and we’re really excited to see it take shape. There is still a long way to go, though, and Disneyland Paris has not yet announced an opening date for either the attraction or the wider Pride Lands area.
For now, the arrival of Scar gives us another exciting glimpse at what is being built, and we can’t wait to see the finished world come to life.

Scar is coming to the Disneyland Paris Lion King attraction
The latest reveal gives us our first proper look at how Scar will feature in the new The Lion King attraction at Disneyland Paris.
In newly released concept art, Scar can be seen standing in Simba’s path during a confrontation inspired by the dramatic climax of the 1994 Walt Disney Animation Studios classic. It is a scene that fans of the film will instantly recognise, with Simba facing the villain who stands between him and becoming king of the Pride Lands.
The scene will be brought to life using a brand-new Scar Audio-Animatronics figure. Disneyland Paris says the figure will make its debut in this attraction, adding another major character to an experience that will also feature Simba, Timon, Pumbaa and more.
For us, Scar is a particularly exciting addition. He’s such an important part of The Lion King story, and seeing him represented as a large-scale Audio-Animatronics figure should help make the confrontation feel much more like a moment from the film rather than simply another scene along a ride.
The concept art also gives us a glimpse at the scale of the storytelling Disneyland Paris is aiming for. Rather than creating a generic attraction inspired by The Lion King, the project is being built around recognisable moments, characters and music from the film.
Of course, concept art is not the finished attraction, and we’ll have to wait until construction is complete to see exactly how this scene looks and moves in person. But with Scar now confirmed, we’re one step closer to seeing the Pride Lands take shape.
What will the Lion King attraction be like?

That combination of storytelling and thrills is one of the things we’re most looking forward to. We haven’t experienced the attraction yet, of course, as it is still under construction, but the plans suggest this will be much more than simply a ride with The Lion King characters added to it.

The Lion King Pride Lands is taking shape
The new The Lion King attraction won’t be standing on its own. It will form the centrepiece of an entirely new immersive world at Disney Adventure World, designed to transport guests into the African savanna and the world of the Pride Lands.
Construction is already well underway. Work began in autumn 2025, with the foundations for the new area completed beside the banks of Adventure Bay, close to the future World of Frozen area.
The first building structures are now starting to rise from the ground, giving us a much better idea of how the new land will begin to take shape.
We’ve been following the construction ourselves, and it’s exciting to see the project move beyond foundation work and start becoming something that guests will eventually be able to explore. That said, there’s still plenty of work to do before the Pride Lands are ready to welcome visitors.
The attraction will be the main draw, but we’re particularly interested in seeing how the wider area comes together. Disneyland Paris is aiming to create an immersive setting rather than simply placing a Lion King ride in the existing park, so the scenery and environment around the attraction will be an important part of the finished experience.
For now, though, the Pride Lands remain firmly a construction site. Disneyland Paris has not announced an opening date, so we’ll have to wait a little longer before we can see the finished world for ourselves.

Why we’re excited for The Lion King at Disneyland Paris
We’re really excited to see the new The Lion King land come to Disneyland Paris. While we’ve obviously not been able to experience the attraction yet, watching the construction progress and seeing new details revealed makes it increasingly easy to imagine what the finished area could be like.
The addition of Scar is a particularly exciting part of the latest announcement. He’s such an important character in the original film, so having a dedicated Audio-Animatronics figure involved in one of the story’s key confrontations should make the attraction feel much more connected to the film.
We’re also looking forward to seeing how the wider Pride Lands area comes together. Disneyland Paris is creating an entire immersive world around the attraction rather than simply adding a new ride, and we’re hoping the finished area will give guests plenty to discover before and after their ride.
