We’ve been hoping for this announcement for a while, and now it’s finally official. A brand-new daytime parade is coming to Disneyland Paris in 2028.
The new parade will debut at Disneyland Park and will be the first new daytime parade introduced at the park since 2017. It will also be unique to Disneyland Paris, becoming a major part of the park’s daytime entertainment offering.
We’ve loved Disney Stars on Parade and have enjoyed watching it during our visits over the years, but we’re more than ready for something new. We first heard about the new parade when it was presented on stage at D23, so seeing Disneyland Paris now officially confirm that it is coming in 2028 is particularly exciting.
The new parade will be led by Mickey Mouse and his friends, with new floats featuring characters including Genie and Jasmine from Aladdin, Tiana from The Princess and the Frog, Rapunzel from Tangled and Miguel from Disney and Pixar’s Coco.
And it sounds like Disneyland Paris is putting plenty of work into making this something special. More than 10,000 hours of research and technical development have gone into the parade, alongside nearly 225 sketches for costumes, wigs and makeup.
We still have plenty of questions about the new parade, including exactly when it will debut and what the full line-up of floats and characters will look like. But after years of enjoying Disney Stars on Parade, we’re very excited to have something new to look forward to in 2028.

Disneyland Paris is getting a brand-new daytime parade
The big news is now official. Disneyland Park will get a brand-new daytime parade in 2028, giving the park its first new daytime parade since 2017.
The new parade will be unique to Disneyland Paris and is expected to become a major part of the park’s daytime entertainment offering. It will run daily, with Mickey Mouse and his friends leading the way.
This is an update we’ve been hoping for, particularly after seeing the parade presented on stage at D23. At the time, we knew a new parade was being developed, but it has now been officially confirmed for Disneyland Paris in 2028.
For us, that’s exciting news. We’ve really enjoyed Disney Stars on Parade, but after years of watching the same daytime parade, we’re more than ready to see something completely new travelling down Main Street, U.S.A.
The new production will focus on Disney magic and the power of dreams, with new floats featuring characters from some much-loved Disney and Pixar films. So far, Disneyland Paris has confirmed Genie and Jasmine from Aladdin, Tiana from The Princess and the Frog, Rapunzel from Tangled and Miguel from Coco.
There are still plenty of details to come, though. Disneyland Paris hasn’t revealed the parade’s official name, exact debut date, full float line-up or complete list of characters.
For now, we’re just happy that the wait is over. A new Disneyland Paris daytime parade is officially on its way.
Which Disney characters will be in the new parade?
Disneyland Paris has revealed several of the characters who will feature in the new parade, giving us our first glimpse at the stories that will be represented.
So far, the confirmed line-up includes:
Genie and Jasmine from Aladdin
Tiana from The Princess and the Frog
Rapunzel from Tangled
Miguel from Disney and Pixar’s Coco
The parade will also be led by Mickey Mouse and his friends, continuing the tradition of putting familiar Disney characters at the heart of the daytime entertainment.
What makes this line-up particularly interesting is the mix of classic Disney animation and more recent favourites. Seeing characters such as Tiana, Rapunzel and Miguel represented alongside Mickey gives the new parade the opportunity to appeal to different generations of Disney fans.

The creative teams have also produced nearly 225 sketches covering costumes, wigs and makeup as they develop the look of the characters and performers.
Those details might seem like small parts of the finished parade, but they’re what help create a consistent visual style across the whole production. From the characters on the floats to the performers alongside them, every element needs to work together as part of the same show.
It’s also a useful reminder that this isn’t simply a collection of floats being put together for Disneyland Park. The parade has been through a substantial period of creative and technical development before guests will see the finished version.
There’s still a long wait until 2028, but with this much work already going into the project, we’re certainly curious to see what the finished parade looks like when it finally arrives.
New parade concept art gives us more clues
The newly released concept art for the parade has given us a few more details to look out for, including what appears to be the return of double floats.
For anyone unfamiliar with the term, these are floats that combine characters or stories from more than one Disney film. They can be a bit divisive among Disneyland Paris fans. Some guests enjoy seeing several stories brought together on a single float, while others would rather see each film given its own dedicated float.
From the artwork released so far, it looks like Coco could feature at the front of one of the floats. At the other end, we’ve spotted what appears to be a black cat, which could be Figaro from Pinocchio.
Another float appears to bring together Aladdin and The Princess and the Frog, although it’s worth stressing that we’re interpreting the concept art rather than confirming the final float line-up.
It’s an interesting glimpse at how Disneyland Paris could be mixing its Disney stories together for the new parade. We’re sure there will be plenty more details to spot as further artwork is released.
What does this mean for Disney Stars on Parade?
For many Disneyland Paris visitors, the arrival of a new daytime parade will naturally raise one question: what happens to Disney Stars on Parade?
At the moment, Disneyland Paris has not confirmed exactly what the change will mean for the current parade. We know the new production is scheduled to arrive in 2028, but there has been no announcement confirming a final performance date for Disney Stars on Parade.
That’s important because we don’t want to assume that the current parade will disappear before the new one arrives. Until Disneyland Paris provides more information, we’ll simply have to wait and see how the two productions fit into the park’s entertainment plans.
Personally, we’re going to miss Disney Stars on Parade when its time eventually comes. We’ve enjoyed watching it during our visits and it’s become a familiar part of a day at Disneyland Park.

What we’re most looking forward to, though, is seeing the parade as a complete production. Until we see the finished result, it’s difficult to know exactly how all those elements will come together.
