Is Meet Mickey closing at Disneyland Paris?
If you have ever been to Disneyland Paris, you will know that meeting Mickey Mouse is a rite of passage. For many guests, it is the highlight of the day. You join the Virtual Queue (hopefully!) and then suddenly there he is, the big cheese himself, ready for a hug and a photo that will sit proudly on the fridge for years.
So imagine our surprise when the official closure calendar revealed something unexpected. Tucked away, almost as if it were hoping no one would notice, was a rather sneaky update.
The Meet Mickey Mouse Photographs location is set to close from Monday 8th September, right after the Music Festival season ends. And here is the part that makes ears prick up. There is no listed reopening date in sight!.
Now, closures at Disneyland Paris are nothing new. Rides go in for refurbishments, shows take seasonal breaks, and sometimes even Mickey himself needs a little time away. But the question everyone is asking right now is simple. Does this mean that the Meet Mickey is closing too?! and today we got confirmation of that answer, YES! kind of…
UPDATE 7th September, 2025
Meet Mickey is now officially closed, but do not panic, because you can still say hello to the mouse that started it all in two different spots.
Inside Disneyland Park, the virtual queue for Mickey has been moved over to the Phantom Manor location. He will be greeting guests here in his classic red shorts and yellow shoes rather than the spooky Phantom Manor outfit. It is a bit of a shame, since that look was unique to Disneyland Paris and gave off such a cool, slightly gothic vibe, but it does mean you get that timeless Mickey photo that never goes out of style.
For his second meeting location, you will find him inside Studio D at Walt Disney Studios Park. This one is a little more relaxed with no virtual queue system, which makes it perfect for guests who prefer to keep things spontaneous.
What We Know Right Now
At the moment, the closure is set to begin on Monday 8th September, the day after the Disneyland Paris Music Festival wraps up. According to the official schedule, the Meet Mickey Mouse Photographs location will remain closed, and there is no confirmed reopening date. For now, the calendar shows closures at least until the end of October.
Typically, when this specific location closes, it signals that the Meet Mickey Mouse experience itself is also unavailable. This means guests hoping to snap a selfie with Mickey or get a signature from the big mouse might find themselves out of luck, at least in his usual spot.

While the closure may seem abrupt, it is not unusual for Disneyland Paris to shuffle character locations or adjust meet and greet schedules, especially around seasonal changes. Still, seeing Mickey off for a longer period than normal is a rare sight and worth keeping on your radar if he is high on your must-see list.
What Happens When Meet Mickey’s Closes
If you have been to Disneyland Paris before, you will know that Mickey rarely disappears for long. When his main Photographs location closes, he often pops up elsewhere in the park. Sometimes it is a nearby meet and greet spot, the key is that he usually stays visible, so fans never miss out entirely.
This time, however, there is a small twist. Mickey is currently on the Virtual Queue system, which changes how and where you can meet him. Because of this, it is less likely that he will simply appear in an alternative location while his usual Photographs spot is closed. In short, guests may have to be a little more flexible with their plans if meeting Mickey is a top priority.
Historically, even a short closure can spark some confusion. Guests arrive expecting to meet Mickey in his familiar setting, only to find the spot closed for refurbishment or seasonal changes. Disneyland Paris usually provides clear updates, but the Virtual Queue adds an extra layer of complexity this time.
So while Mickey is not gone forever, this closure is one of those rare periods where finding him requires a bit of extra planning.
Where You Could Still Find Mickey
If meeting Mickey is at the top of your Disneyland Paris list, there is still hope before the Halloween season begins. Up until the end of September, you can find him at the Phantom Manor meet and greet location. Here, he sports his Phantom Manor outfit, which is a fun twist on his usual look and a treat for anyone who enjoys a little spooky charm with their photos.
When Halloween officially kicks off on 1st October, Mickey will take a short break from his usual meet and greet location. Jack Skellington will take over at Phantom Manor, bringing a completely new Halloween vibe to the park. But Mickey will not disappear entirely. During Halloween, he may appear in his Day of the Dead outfit in Frontierland. You may also spot him at hotel meet and greets, including Newport Bay Club and Santa Fe, offering extra opportunities for photos and autographs.
For those looking for a guaranteed encounter, character dining at the Royal Banquet remains a reliable option. This allows you to meet Mickey in a relaxed setting while enjoying a meal fit for royalty, perfect if you want a photo and autograph without relying on the usual meet and greet lines.
Even with these seasonal changes, Disneyland Paris offers plenty of chances to enjoy magical moments with your favourite characters. Planning ahead and checking updates is the best way to ensure you do not miss out.
Final Thoughts
Closures are a normal part of life at Disneyland Paris, and while seeing Mickey Mouse’s usual meet and greet closed can be disappointing, it is not the end of the magic. He will return, and in the meantime, there are still ways to enjoy a special encounter with him, whether at the Phantom Manor location or through character dining at the Royal Banquet.
